A London restaurant group asked us to look at their IT stack before peak season. Four sites. Busy summer ahead. 🍽️

Here’s what the assessment found:

🍽 PoS terminals on a flat network with shared logins
📡 Guest Wi-Fi bridged to staff at three of four sites
🔑 One shared booking-platform login, no MFA, no rotation
✉️ Supplier-email phishing nearly redirected an invoice

Three weeks of focused work fixed it. Network segmentation, per-user access with MFA, DMARC on supplier email, callback verification for any bank-detail change.

Hospitality runs on uptime. Take the soft spots out before peak season — not after the booking platform locks itself out at the start of June.

Here’s what it actually tests — five controls, real evidence, one assessor day:

🔒 Firewalls and boundary devices
🛠 Secure configuration on endpoints and servers
👤 User access control with MFA
⚠️ Malware protection
🔄 Patch management

When it’s the right move: an insurer or client asks for it; you handle other people’s data; you want a structured baseline. Around £3-5k including the assessor, six weeks of prep.

When it isn’t: chasing a logo without doing the prep that the certificate would surface. CE+ doesn’t fix things — it tells you what’s missing.

If you’re scoping it for the first time, the prep matters more than the badge.
