Yesterday’s brainstorm got us thinking about what’s next for ebrik.

While resident communication and engagement will always be at our core, our work in the social value space has grown naturally over the years.

Alongside digital inclusion sessions and mental-wellbeing support, we’ve delivered Augmented Reality workshops in primary schools and supported boxing training programmes in secondary schools.

This is an area we’re equally passionate about, and going forward, it will play an even bigger role in shaping how we redefine what ebrik stands for and the services we offer.

Where it all started.
Seven years ago, ebrik wasn’t an idea, it was a personal frustration.

While waiting months for her off-plan flat to be completed, Ana had no updates, no visits, and no clear answers.
That experience sparked a question that still drives us today:
How can we make resident communication better?

A year after moving in, Ana sent postcards to her neighbours, asking if they felt the same.
The answers poured in, and they all pointed to one thing:
residents needed better communication, transparency, and a dedicated platform.

That’s how ebrik began.

We just got back from Manchester Housing 2025!

Thanks to all the speakers and organisers for such an insightful week.
A few themes really resonated with ebrik:

• Proactive rather than reactive communication with residents to build ongoing relationships and stop issues escalating;
• Reaching out in ways residents actually understand and engage with—whether they’re vocal or quiet, digitally fluent or not;
• Recognising that social value and social impact can be very different without real, consistent feedback from communities themselves.

It was also encouraging to hear from some of the UK’s largest housing associations about the renewed optimism following the recent 2025 Spending Review, with long-term funding commitments, and new support for building safety. That certainty could unlock real progress in the sector, for building new homes!

Just a few weeks ago, we visited Mitcham Eastfields to check on the progress of the new homes! Kitchen units are already being installed, including dishwashers and underfloor heating, marking a major milestone in the delivery of these high-quality new homes.

Once again, Senior Site Manager Bryan Murphy takes us on a tour of the site, offering his expert insight with the same enthusiasm and attention to detail that have been hallmarks of this project. The progress is a testament to the dedication of the entire team on the ground.

This project is being built by JJ Rhatigan & Company and was brought to life through the creative collaboration of three renowned architectural practices: Levitt Bernstein, Proctor & Matthews Architects, and Cullinan Studio.

Congratulations! Barne Barton Project by wins the Transparent Construction Site of the Month

Following months of collecting submissions, we are thrilled to announce the first ever Transparent Site of The Month, hosted by the Transparent Construction Awards. Our awards recognise the imperative efforts and contributions made within the construction industry to promote and nurture transparency and communication across all participants within the built environment.

This month, the Transparent Construction Awards Jury is honoured to announce that the Barne Barton Project by Clarion Housing has won our Transparent Site of the Month.

Clarion Housing's efforts have supported a strong sense of communication, and visibility, within our industry, and we couldn't be happier to have them as part of our centralised network of construction excellence when it comes to transparent practice.

With the first month's award being delivered, we are excited to look ahead to the next round of submissions. Along with our industry-leading panel of judges, we aim to establish a strong network of construction industry leaders around the globe, in an attempt to benchmark and normalise the exceptional acts of transparency we're seeing today.
