Buying a New Washing Machine? Start With How You Live...

Buying a new washing machine, tumble dryer or washer dryer?

It's easy to get lost comparing specifications online, but the right machine isn't necessarily the one with the longest list of features, it's the one that works for you and your home.

Think about how much washing you actually do, the drum capacity you need, the space you have available and the features you'll genuinely use.

At Harris Electrical, you can compare different models and brands in person, open the doors, look inside and get a much better feel for what will work in your home.

And if you'd like to do a little research before you visit, check out our Washing Machine and Laundry Buying Guides online for more help choosing.

Featuring washing machines from Bosch, Miele and many more!

The new and improved Harris Electrical branding is officially hitting the road.

There’s a reason we built a kitchen, rather than simply displaying one.

Over the coming months, we're going to be bringing our new Hackney kitchen showroom to life.

We're planning cooking events with food experts and home economists, showing just how simple it can be to make wholesome, delicious food at home - while giving you the chance to see the appliances we sell doing what they're actually designed to do.
Because choosing an oven shouldn't just be about comparing specifications.

What is it like to cook with?

Which features will you genuinely use?

What makes one appliance better suited to the way your family cooks than another?

We want our kitchen showroom to become somewhere you can discover all of that.

There'll be recipes, demonstrations, inspiration and plenty of opportunities to taste the results too.

This is just the beginning.

More coming soon from the kitchen at Harris Electrical Hackney.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes…

Something new is coming to Harris Electrical.

We’re getting ready to launch our new website, with a fresh new look, easier ways to explore and compare appliances, and helpful new Buying Guides designed to make choosing the right product for your home that little bit simpler.

Because while the way you shop may be changing, the things that matter to us haven’t.

Great service. Helpful advice. Local people.

Whether you visit us online or pop into Hackney, Walthamstow or Gants Hill, we’re still Harris Electrical.

Coming soon…

Come appliance shopping with me…

We spend so much time shopping online, but when it comes to choosing appliances for your home, sometimes you just need to see them in person.

Open the doors. See the space inside. Compare the sizes. Get a feel for what would actually work in your home, and have someone there to answer the questions you hadn't even thought of.

That's exactly why our Hackney store is here.

Come in, have a look around and take your time. Some things you just need to see in person.

Something new is hitting the road…

We've been working on something behind the scenes at Harris Electrical.

Very soon, you might notice us looking a little different when we're out and about across Hackney, Walthamstow and Gants Hill.

We're not giving everything away just yet…

Keep your eyes peeled.

When you're choosing a new appliance, what matters most to you?

Price? Energy efficiency? The latest features? A brand you've always trusted?

Or simply knowing it'll fit your home and do the job you need it to do?

Meet Bradley 👋

The newest member of the Harris Electrical team in Hackney.

Bradley has a real passion for helping customers find the right appliance for their home - not simply the one with the longest list of features.

Whether you're replacing something that's finally given up, planning a new kitchen or simply not sure where to start, sometimes there's no substitute for talking to someone who knows the products and can help you narrow down the choices.

Pop into our Hackney store and say hello to Bradley.

Real people. Real advice. Right on your doorstep.

A lot has changed since this photograph was taken.

The appliances certainly have. The shop looks a little different too. But the reason Harris Electrical exists has remained remarkably similar.

Our story began in Hackney in 1934, when Thomas Archibald Harris founded the business. Before opening Harris Electrical, Thomas had worked at the Hackney Empire, and his fascination with electricity and new technology would eventually lead to the family business you know today.

More than 90 years later, Harris Electrical is still here, still independent, still serving our local communities and now welcoming another generation into the business.

From radios and bicycles in the window to today's kitchens, washing machines and smart appliances, technology has changed beyond recognition.

But good local service never really goes out of date.

We're incredibly proud of where we came from - and even more excited about what's coming next.
