Signumology (Signum Health) turns 10 🎉

A whole decade since we “formally” started this journey — and what a journey it’s been.

Over the last 10 years, we’ve had the privilege of building technology, supporting healthcare services, working with incredible people, and continuously evolving as a business. We’ve seen ideas grow into real-world solutions that genuinely make a difference, and that’s something we’re incredibly proud of.

But like any business journey, especially in healthcare and tech, it hasn’t always been easy.

There have been amazing highs, difficult lows, challenges we never expected, lessons learned the hard way, and moments where resilience mattered more than anything else. Starting and growing a business is exciting, rewarding, exhausting, and sometimes overwhelming — often all at once.

What’s carried us through all of it is the people around us.

To our team — past and present — thank you. To those who joined us for a short chapter, and those still part of the journey today, every single person has played a role in shaping Signumology into what it is now.

To our, clients, partners, suppliers, shareholders, friends, and families — thank you. Thank you for believing in us, supporting us, challenging us, encouraging us, and continuing to back our vision over the years.

Reaching 10 years is something we don’t take for granted.

Over the next week, we’re going to share more about our journey — the highs, the hurdles, the lessons, the proud moments, and the raw truth behind building and running a business over the last decade.

Not just the polished highlights, but the real story behind them.

Because every business has a journey people don’t always get to see.

Here’s to the first 10 years of Signumology… and to the next chapter. 🥂

We’ve spent the week soaking up some rare Cardiff sunshine at the University for the final presentations for the projects.

Since we kicked things off back in January, these two groups of final-year students have been working alongside us to build out real-world solutions. Looking at where they started versus the calibre of the final products they delivered this week, the growth is honestly staggering. It’s been a privilege to play a small part in that journey and see them tackle complex problems with so much professional maturity.

To the students: A massive well done. You’ve done a brilliant job in such a short window of time. Good luck with the final write-ups and these last few weeks of term—you’ve clearly got bright futures ahead of you!!🙌

We’ve loved every minute of this collaboration and are already looking forward to the next time we can team up with Cardiff University and the NSA.

This week is about understanding, support, and recognising that fertility journeys are often more complex than they appear.

For many people, the causes of infertility aren’t always obvious. Sometimes, untreated sexually transmitted infections (STIs) like chlamydia and gonorrhoea can quietly lead to long-term damage — affecting fertility in both women and men. This can include scarring, blockages, or ongoing inflammation that may only become apparent later on.

That’s why early testing and simple access to care really matters.
In Wales, you can access the Sexual Health Test & Post service powered by Signum, designed to make testing easier and more discreet:
- Order a kit online
- Take your sample in your own time
- Receive results securely
- Get guidance on next steps if needed

The Sexual Health Test & Post service powered by Signum has supported the testing of nearly half a million people for chlamydia and gonorrhoea since 2018 — helping more people access care earlier, often before symptoms appear.

It’s not about alarm — it’s about awareness, reassurance, and giving people more control over their health. Because small steps, taken early, can make a real difference later 💛

Today marks World AIDS Day, a moment to reflect, honour progress and recognise the work still ahead.

In the UK, we have committed to ending new HIV transmissions in the capital by 2030. Achieving that goal relies on collective responsibility: raising awareness, reducing stigma and ensuring consistent access to prevention and care.

This year’s theme, Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response, reflects the pressures facing HIV services. Funding cuts, service disruption and wider challenges in public health mean resilience and innovation are more important than ever. Community-led care, human-rights-centred approaches and renewed national cooperation will shape what happens next.
Digital tools now sit at the centre of that transformation.

Across the UK, online HIV self-testing, NHS digital triage pathways and sexual health platforms are widening access in ways that were not possible a decade ago. These digital entry points are helping services remain stable, accessible and inclusive, especially for people who may face stigma or have limited physical access to clinics.

Digital pathways are strengthening prevention and early diagnosis by:
• Increasing access to remote HIV self-testing through online ordering services, including the expanded 2025 self-sampling initiative.• Allowing people to engage with services without needing to attend a clinic in person.• Maintaining continuity of testing and prevention for communities affected by service disruption.

A modern HIV response must be digital, resilient and designed around real people and the barriers they face.

Technology is already helping more individuals test regularly, access PrEP and receive support when they need it most. At Signumology, we believe digital entry points are essential to a future where stigma is reduced, services are strengthened and the goal of zero new transmissions becomes a reality.

World AIDS Day is a powerful reminder that transforming the HIV response starts with meeting people where they are, and digital is making that possible.

We didn’t take home the award last night, but being named a finalist at the Wales Technology Awards is an achievement in itself, the whole team at Signumology are feeling incredibly proud this morning.

It’s not easy to be recognised in a category as competitive as Health Tech, especially when standing alongside organisations doing exceptional work across Wales. Being included in that shortlist reflects the quality, consistency and care that goes into everything we deliver.

For us, what mattered most about the award wasn’t the final result, but the acknowledgement of the work that our team puts in every single day. The problems we’re solving, the way we support our partners, and the standards we hold ourselves to are clearly being noticed.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to getting us here. We have earned our place through hard work, belief and ambition and it feels amazing that our efforts are making an impact where it counts.

Huge congratulations to all the winners, and a heartfelt thank you to our team for everything that brought us to this moment. This recognition belongs to all of us!!👏

Good luck to everyone involved, and enjoy what’s set to be a brilliant night of celebrations!!

In every demo, pitch, and conversation across healthcare, one word dominates: data. Everyone wants it, everyone needs it...
22/10/2025

In every demo, pitch, and conversation across healthcare, one word dominates: data. Everyone wants it, everyone needs it, and yet almost nobody can access it in a way that feels trustworthy or timely. At Signumology, we hear the same frustrations repeatedly; systems don’t talk to each other, dashboards are promised and then arrive as static exports, and clinicians who need to track outcomes are left wrangling spreadsheets or waiting weeks for reports that confirm what they already suspected. In healthcare, that isn’t just an operational inconvenience—it is a brake on progress. When outcomes aren’t tracked, effective interventions can vanish quietly. When insights don’t flow, resources can’t be directed where they are needed most. When evidence is missing, innovation stalls and budgets revert to the familiar rather than the impactful.

To us, what makes this so maddening is that the data often exists. It sits inside electronic records, referral pathways, forms, devices, and local systems—locked behind fragmentation, legacy technology, inconsistent coding, and the absence of straightforward integration funding. The problem, then, is rarely a shortage of data; it is the lack of usable insight. Frontline teams do not need more charts for the sake of charts. They need the ability to answer practical questions without a technical translator: Did this intervention work? For whom, under what conditions, and at what cost? Are we improving outcomes, reducing avoidable demand, and supporting staff to do the right thing more easily?

Good data in healthcare is not about volume or novelty—it is about clarity, continuity, and context.

At Signumology, that principle underpins every module we build. We focus on making existing data visible, connected, and meaningful at the point of need, so that clinicians and service leads can see the full picture without chasing reports or stitching together CSVs. The goal is simple: turn scattered signals into decisions that improve care. If data is the gold dust of med-tech, our job isn’t to promise bigger sieves; it’s to help teams mine what they already have, surface what matters, and close the loop between activity, outcomes, and learning. The future won’t be defined by who collects the most data, but by who helps the healthcare providers understand it fastest—and use it to make a measurable difference.
