π Types of Hackers Targeting UK businesses:
οΈβ£ Script Kiddies: Typically amateurs using pre-written scripts or tools to carry out attacks, for curiosity's sake or a moment of fame.
οΈβ£ Hacktivists: Motivated by social, political, or environmental reasons, seeking to promote their agenda but can harm businesses if they believe they are opposed to their cause.
οΈβ£ Cyber Criminals: Driven by financial gain, cyber criminals target businesses for extortion, data theft, or other monetizable activities, using ransomware attacks, for example.
οΈβ£ State-Sponsored Hackers: Operating on behalf of governments to gather intelligence or carry out cyber warfare. The theft of UK business IP by foreign governments is an increasing concern since 2023.
