40% of visitors will abandon your website if it takes longer than 3 seconds to load (the stats are more for mobile users - argh)!

That's potential visitors, exhibitors or sponsors clicking away before they even see what your event has to offer.

But here's the good news - you don't need to be a tech expert to fix this. Most website speed issues come down to content decisions that YOU can control.

6 simple ways to speed up your website today:
⚫Optimise your images - Always compress images before uploading. This single change can dramatically improve your loading times.
⚫ Be strategic with videos - Ask yourself "is this video essential?" before adding it. Consider using YouTube embeds with the nocookie version to reduce load.
⚫ Clean up your tracking codes - Remove old Google Analytics tags and tracking scripts you're no longer using.
⚫Delete draft sections - Even inactive, unpublished content can slow down your pages by loading in the background.
⚫Limit widgets and carousels - Fewer items in your carousels and widgets means faster loading times.
⚫Regular content audits - Regularly review and remove content that isn't serving your visitors.

Think of your website like your computer - even the fastest laptop slows down when it's running too many programs at once. Your website works the same way!

We just rewatched our recent webinar with PPC expert Tom McMahon and honestly... we're still processing what he said.

Event organisers spending thousands on PPC ads? You might be getting HALF the results you could be getting.

The secret? Sort your SEO first. Tom's data shows that when you combine solid SEO foundations with PPC, you can literally double your impact from the same budget.

With event budgets getting tighter, this isn't just nice-to-have advice - it's essential.
Our latest guide breaks down exactly how to make this work...

Instagram posts now appear in Google search and AI engine results - turning your social content into powerful SEO assets for your exhibition or conference website.

Why does this matter? Your Instagram isn't just social media anymore. It's a 24/7 marketing engine that can attract attendees months after you post.

Here's 3 strategies to implement immediately:
1. Optimise your alt text
Instead of "speaker on stage" use "keynote presentation sustainable energy summit Birmingham 2025"

2. Lead with keywords
Start captions with "Join 3,000+ healthcare professionals at..." rather than "We're excited to announce..."

3. Geotag strategically
Tag your venue, city, and region - local searches are goldmines for event discovery
The payoff? Your posts continue working long after your event ends, building authority and attracting future attendees.

Bonus tip: Link to your event website from your bio and key posts - those backlinks boost your domain authority while expanding your reach.

Your event website is be accidentally excluding potential attendees😳

Here's what we're seeing: Many accessibility problems on event websites aren't technical issues - they're content creation mistakes that happen every single day.

Here are some common content mistakes that create barriers:
🚫 Generic alt text like "photo123.jpg" instead of describing what's actually in the image
🚫 Beautiful colour combinations that people with visual impairments can't read
🚫 PDF speaker packs that screen readers can't navigate
🚫 Event videos without captions (466 million people worldwide have hearing loss!)
🚫 Registration forms with confusing instructions

The good news? These are all preventable with the right training.
When your marketing team understands accessibility basics, incredible things happen:
✨ Your content becomes crystal clear for EVERYONE
✨ You stay legally compliant without stress
✨ Your events become truly welcoming to all attendees
✨ Your brand stands out as genuinely inclusive

Train your content creators to think accessibly from day one, rather than trying to fix things afterwards.

Ready to upskill your team? We've created 90-minute accessibility workshops designed specifically for event marketing teams. Your team goes from confused to confident in one focused session.

Today we're talking accessibility statements.

Your website's accessibility statement does more than tick compliance boxes—it shows attendees you genuinely care about their experience.

Here's what a good accessibility statement should include:
- Authentic commitment
- Clear standards you follow (WCAG 2.2 AA level)
- Honest assessment of current status
- Multiple ways for people to get help
- Regular updates and maintenance schedule

Where should it go?
- Link in your website footer
- Include in main navigation
- Link from your homepage

Honesty about your current situation builds more trust than overpromising on compliance you don't have.

Check out our complete guide to writing accessibility statements for event websites.

Not all buttons are created equal when it comes to event website CTAs...

Once you have decided what your primary CTA is (often it's registration) - you need to make sure you supercharge so it does the job of being the final nudge in the conversion journey...

But how do you create the perfect conditions for conversion? Testing, that's how.

CTAs are one of the easiest elements to test, you could try:

✅ Language tweaks - Register Now vs Book a Ticket
✅ Sticky vs Static placement
✅ Button colour & contrast
✅ Microcopy undeneath the button that explains why to click

Small A/B tests can dramatically improve results... And remember, you won't need to redesign your whole web page - just edit the parts that are doing the heavy lifting.

We chatted about this, and much more in our recent webinar on landing page optimisation and how to improve conversions. View the full lowdown here:
