A great example of how charities are adapting as cash declines.

The Purple Elephant Project who are supporting over 100 children and families each week with vital therapeutic services, partnered with Give A Little to move to contactless donations.

As Fundraising Manager Nina Bradburn put it: “It’s been really revolutionary… we’ll now be able to track everything going forward. I just think it’s great.”

Did you know inflation could be quietly eroding the real impact of your supporters’ generosity over time?

While regular giving provides vital, predictable income, its true value can shrink as costs rise, putting added pressure on charities to do more with less.

This quick read explores how organisations can adapt, protect their income, and ensure donations keep pace with inflation with Give A Little’s new Inflationary Giving - helping every gift go further, for longer.

Find out how to future-proof your fundraising and maximise long-term impact! https://givealittle.co/news/inflation-proof-your-regular-giving-with-give-a-little-inflationary-giving

We’re revisiting one of our articles: “The Psychology of Giving: Charity vs. Retail Transactions.” It's something we talk about regularly within the Give A Little Community.

Why do people happily spend on themselves, but hesitate when it comes to giving?

This piece explores:

• The emotional difference between buying and donating

• The “warm glow” effect and what drives generosity

• How contactless giving is changing donor behaviour

• Why removing friction can dramatically increase donations

As cashless and contactless payments continue to grow, understanding donor psychology has never been more important for charities looking to maximise impact.

If you're thinking about how to encourage more spontaneous, meaningful giving - this i https://givealittle.co/news/the-psychology-of-giving-charity-vs-retail-transactions

How often are donations lost - not because people don’t want to give, but because your teams simply can’t accept them? For Stroke Association 59% of frontline staff are turning down donations.

And for many charities, this happens more than you’d think. Frontline staff build powerful, personal connections with supporters every day… only to find themselves having to turn away spontaneous donations because they can’t take cash.

It’s frustrating for your team, and disappointing for the donor.

In this case study, see how the Stroke Association tackled this “cashless gap” and empowered staff to capture support anytime, anywhere - from major events to someone’s living room.

Read how they made it possible:

Give A Little's Emma Rose and Vicky Hewlett had such a lovely time at last week’s MOREVER Meetup. Meeting up with Nicola Ellul from Look Good Feel Better UK who have now been part of the Give A Little Community for some time, and came along as our guest, was an added bonus!

A huge thank you to Abi Mellor and Pip Evan-Cook from MOREVER for bringing together such an inspiring group of women from across charity brand, marketing, comms and fundraising. Creating space to step away from the day-to-day, connect properly and share experiences is so valuable and was an absolute breath of fresh air.

Listening to Laura Mitchell from SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity talking about the way they so thoughtfully share their stories was inspiring and thought provoking. Whether it’s lived experience, supporter voices or the moments that don’t always make it into a campaign, these are the stories that truly move people and drive action.

At Give A Little, this is something we think about every day.

We know that behind every donation is a human story. That’s why we’ve built our platform to support fully customisable campaigns - giving charities the flexibility to bring their stories to life.

We’re incredibly proud to sponsor the MOREVER Meetups and help make these events accessible to the community. Supporting spaces where ideas, experiences and stories are shared so openly is exactly the kind of impact we want to be part of.

Thanks again to everyone we met - we left feeling energised, inspired and reminded why storytelling sits at the heart of great fundraising.

In our latest case study, discover how Horley Baptist Church transformed its approach to church fundraising by embracing simple, flexible, and fully cashless donations with Give A Little.

As fewer people carry cash, churches and community organisations are rethinking how they collect donations. From building funds and monthly charity drives to one-off social events, managing multiple campaigns can quickly become complex, especially when donors expect fast, contactless ways to give.

Since launching in 2019, the Give A Little community has now raised over £80 million for vital causes - including a record-breaking £31.5m in 2025 alone.
Last year also saw the launch of the Give A Little Champion App, helping charities turn everyday smartphones into secure fundraising tools and reach supporters in new ways.
Thank you to every organisation, fundraiser and donor who has put their trust in Give A Little. Together, we’re proving that technology can be a powerful force for good. 💙
