🎙️ New podcast episode out now.

Ops. People. Culture.

They’re often treated as separate problems, but your team doesn’t see it that way. They just want to know when they’re working, where to find what they need, and how to get on with the job.

So why are so many hospitality businesses still running their workforce across six or seven different apps?

This week, Chris Fletcher sits down with Gregers Knudsen, Co-founder and CEO of Monotree, to talk about the employee “front door” for hospitality.

Gregers built Monotree after seeing businesses with 1,000+ employees trying to run their operations through Facebook groups and WhatsApp, and realised there had to be a better way.

They get into:
➡️ Why moving teams off WhatsApp is harder than it sounds
➡️ What changes when all your engagement data lives in one place
➡️ Why open APIs matter more than ever
➡️ How operators are already using AI tools like Claude with their workforce data
➡️ Capturing knowledge before it walks out the door with your people

One quote that stuck with us:
💬 “Good tech is just when you don’t really think about it.”

It’s an honest, operator-first conversation about the part of the tech stack almost everyone has... but very few have actually solved.

Give it a listen.

Hospitality has never had more technology.

So why are so many operators still spending hours on admin?

Over the past few months, Bizimply and Tech on Toast have been talking to hospitality operators across the industry to understand where technology is delivering, and where it’s falling short.

The result? The Hospitality Operations Benchmark 2026.

🥐 Join us for The Connected Floor, an exclusive brunch where we’ll unveil the research and explore what it means for the future of hospitality operations.

Here’s one insight we can reveal...

👉 86% of operators say disconnected systems create unnecessary manager admin.

And that’s just the beginning.

We’re delighted to be joined by Sarah Puleston, Head of People & Culture at K&Z Holdings Ltd, who’ll join the discussion on the future of hospitality operations. More speakers will be announced soon.

We’ll be discussing:
✨ Connected operations
✨ AI in hospitality
✨ The biggest operational challenges facing the industry
✨ What hospitality leaders expect from technology partners next

🏆 The World Cup has kicked off with a bang. Boston has run out of beer, and we are all loving the hydration breaks... 😅

For hospitality operators, the World Cup brings one of the most operationally intense trading periods of the year. Packed venues, unpredictable demand, and that crucial 15-minute halftime window can make or break service.

🎧 In our latest episode, Chris Fletcher sits down with Shamik Morjaria Mojaria, Sales Manager EMEA at Crunchtime, to dig into what it really takes to run consistent, efficient operations across a hospitality estate.

They explore why fragmented tech stacks are holding operators back, how better forecasting changes everything, what practical AI means in hospitality, and why ROI is still the hardest question in the room.

📘 The AI Buyer’s Guide explores how leading hospitality brands are using AI to strengthen operational control before major demand events like the World Cup.

A few weeks ago, we joined forces with to host a panel on one of hospitality’s biggest opportunities (and challenges): getting real value from your data.

The conversation cut through the AI hype and focused on what operators are actually doing today.

Joining us were:
📍 Tommy Giraux, Head of Restaurant Systems at Honest Burgers Ltd
📍 Tyrone Delaney, Finance Director at CAMINO LONDON
📍 Chris Rang, Head of FP&A at JKS Restaurants

Between them, they shared practical examples of how connected data and AI are helping hospitality teams:

✅ Surface insights in minutes instead of days.
✅ Connect sales, labour, guest feedback, and operations data across systems.
✅ Free up finance teams to focus on strategy rather than reporting.
✅ Answer questions that previously required multiple reports and hours of analysis.

One insight that really stood out:

“The data was never the problem. The challenge was making sense of it fast enough to act.”

Whether you’re exploring AI, improving reporting, or simply trying to get more value from the systems you already have, this discussion is packed with practical takeaways.

🧡 Every Byte Counts with Tenzo

It was fantastic to host this panel with Tenzo last week, bringing together hospitality leaders to discuss how operators can get more value from the data they already have.

The conversation explored where AI is genuinely creating value across hospitality, from forecasting and reporting to labour planning and operational decision-making, while cutting through the hype surrounding the latest tools.

A huge thank you to our panellists, Tommy Giraux (Honest Burgers Ltd), Tyrone Delaney (CAMINO LONDON) and Chris Rang (JKS Restaurants), for sharing their insights, and to the Tenzo team for helping bring the conversation together.

A few themes stood out:

📊 The data matters more than the model. AI is only as powerful as the information behind it, making connected systems and reliable data more important than ever.

⚡ Speed creates value. Real-time visibility enables operators to make faster, more informed decisions when it matters most.

🤝 Trust comes from people. AI can handle much of the heavy lifting, but human oversight remains critical.

🔗 The best tech fits into your ecosystem. Integration is no longer a nice-to-have, it’s a key factor in how operators evaluate new solutions.

Stay tuned for the full panel discussion, and in the meantime, check out some of the highlights below 📸

🎙️ New Tech on Toast podcast episode out now

This week, Chris Fletcher sits down with Lorraine Copes, Founder of Be Inclusive Hospitality, for a conversation about careers, confidence, leadership, and why investing in people remains hospitality’s biggest opportunity.

Lorraine shares her journey from procurement leadership roles at Shake Shack UK, Gordon Ramsay Group and Corbin & King to founding Be Inclusive Hospitality, which has now supported and trained more than 2,000 hospitality leaders.

We discuss:
✨ Building a career in hospitality without a traditional roadmap
✨ The lessons Danny Meyer taught her about leadership
✨ Why confidence is often the biggest barrier to progression
✨ The reality of diversity in hospitality leadership
✨ The work Be Inclusive Hospitality is doing to create better pathways into senior roles
✨ The upcoming Better Hospitality Campaign and what it could mean for the industry

One of our favourite takeaways:

“Find your tribe.”

Simple advice, but often the difference between staying stuck and moving forward.

Thank you Lorraine Copes for such an open and insightful conversation💛
