AI is changing how your customers discover brands. 👀

And that means eCommerce growth is changing too.

In this edition of Digital Diagnosis, we’re looking at how founder-led eCommerce brands can stay competitive as customers move beyond traditional search and increasingly use AI to discover, evaluate, and choose products.

We’ll break down the GMAX growth framework:

Diagnose → Design & Build → Rank → Convert → Retain

And, more importantly, what each stage needs to look like in the age of AI.

Because the question isn't just:
“How do we get more traffic?”

It's:

“How do we build a brand that AI can understand, customers can trust, and the business can grow from?”

That’s the real competitive advantage.

3 signs your website is losing customers before they even see your product 👀

And no — I'm not talking about your colours, fonts, or whether your homepage “looks premium.”

I'm talking about the small structural leaks that quietly cost eCommerce brands sales.

1️⃣ Your buy button disappears when customers scroll to reviews.

They read the reviews.
They get convinced.
They're ready to buy.

Then they have to scroll all the way back up.

That tiny bit of friction can be enough to lose the sale.

2️⃣ Important trust information is hidden.

Ingredients. Delivery times. Returns. FAQs.

These aren't just “extra information.”

They're often the answers a customer needs before they feel comfortable buying.

Make them hunt for those answers, and you're making the buying decision harder than it needs to be.

3️⃣ Your page title only says your brand name.

If someone searches for what you sell and Google only sees your brand name, you're missing an opportunity to tell them exactly what your page is about.

Your brand name matters.

But it shouldn't have to do all the work.

Here's the interesting part:

None of these necessarily require a full website rebuild.

They're easy to miss when you're the founder because you already know where everything is.

Your customer doesn't.

So take 5 minutes today and visit your website like a complete stranger.

Ask yourself:

→ Can I understand what this product does quickly?
→ Can I find the information I need to trust it?
→ Can I buy without unnecessary friction?

If the answer to any of those is “not really”...

you might have a conversion leak hiding in plain sight.

Save this and audit your site later. 🔖

AI isn't replacing word-of-mouth.

It's accelerating it.

One of the biggest mistakes I see beauty brands make is assuming AI can create trust.

It can't.

What it can do is help more people see the trust you've already earned.

One genuine customer review can become: • A Reel • A Story • A TikTok • A Pinterest Pin • A LinkedIn post

That's AI doing what it does best—amplifying what's already real.

The opposite is happening too.

Fake reviews.

AI-generated testimonials.

Before-and-after photos that never happened.

It might get attention today.

But the moment customers realise something isn't genuine, you don't just lose a sale.

You lose credibility.

And that's much harder to rebuild.

The beauty brands that will win over the next few years won't be the ones using the most AI.

They'll be the ones using AI to scale authenticity, not replace it.

Use AI to amplify your customers.
Never to invent them.

👇 How are you using AI in your business right now?

Some beauty brands go viral.

Most don't.

And it has very little to do with luck.

Marketing professor Jonah Berger spent years studying why certain products, ideas and campaigns spread while others disappear.

His conclusion?

Virality isn't random.

It's built.

Through six psychological triggers.

The fascinating part...

They're just as relevant to beauty brands today as they were when the research was first published.

Think about it.

People don't share products.

They share stories that make them look interesting.

They don't remember brands because they're the "best."

They remember brands that become part of their daily routine.

They don't talk about ordinary.

They talk about surprising.

That's why two skincare brands with similar products can have completely different outcomes online.

One posts beautiful content.

The other creates conversations people can't help but pass on.

In this carousel, I've broken down Jonah Berger's 6 STEPPS framework and translated it into practical examples for beauty, skincare and wellness brands.

If you're creating content that looks great but rarely gets shared...

This framework might explain why.

I think most marketing agencies start in the wrong place.

That's a problem.

Imagine walking into a doctor's office.

Before asking a single question, they hand you a prescription.

Sounds ridiculous.

Yet that's exactly how most agencies sell.

"You need a new website."

"You need SEO."

"You need CRO."

They prescribe...
..before they diagnose.

Here's the uncomfortable truth:

Not every business needs a website redesign.

Some need better product pages.

Some need stronger trust signals.

Some need faster load speeds.

Some need email marketing.

Some simply need to stop leaking customers at checkout.

The service isn't the solution.

The diagnosis is.

If an agency already knows what you need before understanding your business...

I'd question whether they're solving your problem...
..or selling their favourite service.

That's why at Gmax Digital, we don't begin with deliverables.

We begin with questions.

Because great agencies don't sell websites.

They solve revenue problems.

Everything else is just the tool.

"New Year, New You" ads aren't what's filling gyms in 2026, visibility is. And
most gym marketing still isn't built for how people search today.

Here's how we make sure you don't pay for marketing that doesn't work:

You pay for operational costs only hosting, tools, third-party subscriptions
while we build. The full service fee only lands when the work is done,
delivered, and you're genuinely happy with it. If it's not right, we fix it.
If we can't fix it, you don't owe us.

Here's everything we build for your gym, on us, until it's working:
✓ Planning: auditing your area and where members actually search
✓ R&D: testing your messaging before a penny goes to ads
✓ Web Development: a site that converts and that AI can read
✓ Advertising: campaigns built on tested data, not guesses
✓ SEO + AEO: ranked on Google, recommended by AI platforms
✓ CRO: turning site visits into sign-ups
✓ Email Marketing: keeping members engaged and renewing

This exists because we've spoken to too many gym owners who paid
£8,000–£15,000 to a marketing company, waited months, and got a campaign they
couldn't even show their members. That story ends here.

Buyers don't just Google "estate agents near me" anymore, a lot of them are
