Sunday is the Brighton Half Marathon 2026 and this year Glencairn has encouraged 38 local runners from Arunners run club of Littlehampton to join in the fun and experience as part of Team Beacon raising funds for The Sussex Beacon.
Well done to everyone for raising awareness of the charity and raising whatever funds possible 👍🏻👍🏻

We are thrilled to announce that our very own , the group of people specifically running in aid of The Sussex Beacon at the Brighton Half Marathon, have set two new records in 2025!!

First of all, having last year numbered around 250 runners, this year Team Beacon grew to an incredible 400 people, all supporting the Beacon. The second and even more stunning result is that Team Beacon 2025 has raised a phenomenal sum in excess of £100,000!!! This money will support the Beacon’s Community Services Team’s work, especially its Women and Families Group Formula Milk Programme, which supports and cares for mothers living with HIV.

On the day, Team Beacon runners were treated to an early morning warm-up by DS Chris Oliver from Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins. As previously mentioned, other celebrities within Team Beacon 2025 included Craig Parkinson, Bobby Seagull, and Matt Robson-Scott, as well as well known comedian Patrick Monahan. Apart from Chris, we were also delighted to welcome back the inspiring Brooke paintain, who is well known and highly regarded for her work involving fitness and body positivity 😎.

Also new to Team Beacon in 2025 is Chris Ward MP for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven (the catchment area including The Sussex Beacon and our St James's Street shop), who has exceeded his fundraising target.

Of particular note of course are the fabulous trio of Alfie Ordinary, Snow White Trash and RJ Campinuff. We'll talk about them separately, because there's a lot to tell!

We are delighted to have helped out at the Community Playcentre at Walberton today in donating a new Acer PC with Windows 11 for their Admin team. They asked, we helped, simples 😀
