A customer brought in their Ford C-Max with a heater blower motor that wouldn’t switch off, causing the battery to drain and the fan to run continuously.

After carrying out a full diagnostic inspection, we traced the fault to an aftermarket heater blower resistor that wasn’t performing correctly.

Although recently fitted, the replacement resistor was not operating within specification, causing the blower motor control circuit to remain active.
