Request:

A customer called stating that they were having a new reception desk built out of hours and required assistance with moving all the IT equipment out of the way so the build could take place.

Solution:

Col-Tech Group attended site out of hours to support this customer. We take into consideration health and safety and due to the safe route of the cabling, it was discussed with the customer to offer a wireless solution so all desktops in the reception area had a USB wireless adapter introduced, static IP addresses were updated for the new network adapters and Windows Firewall config was updated.

Whilst on site we also discussed introducing Microsoft Wireless Display Adapters so that the devices could cast to display TV's on the walls.

Problem:

A customer called stating that they have dropped their laptop and due to it being an older model, wasn't looking for a repair. They just wanted a replacement but were nervous about losing all their old data.

Solution:

Col-Tech Group spoke with the customer to identify their requirements to ensure the new laptop has the required spec. We were able to offer a competitive quote for the hardware replacement and offered the service of swapping out hard drives so all files/settings were exactly how the customer had them.
