Today we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first mission of Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. Since 1994 we have flown over 29,000 potentially life-saving missions across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

Have you wondered what these little cannisters are? They are containers for nitrous oxide. We are seeing them increasingly in Skegness and other areas in the County so this post is to raise awareness.

Nitrous oxide is covered by the 2016 Psychoactive Substances Act meaning it’s illegal to sell or supply it for recreational purposes. There’s a dangerous misconception that it is harmless. It’s not. It can cause unconsciousness and even death. Long term use can lead to vitamin deficiency, anaemia and nerve damage.

This would’ve had me stumped; I know geometry theory but in practice I often needed a couple of attempts to get it right in practice (back when I was an Electrician installing trunking etc).
