Sevron Helping Businesses Achieve Safety Compliance with Innovative Solutions. Sevron has been created with the purpose of helping businesses reduce risk.

Sevron created in 2007, we are now considered one of the country’s most innovative online solution developers. Constantly striving to reduce risk in the workplace, our intuitive solutions enable businesses of all sizes and sectors to create and manage Risk and COSHH assessments, acquire and manage Safety Data Sheets, and capture, record, and report workplace incidents in real-time. To achieve this

, we employ a holistic approach to what is a complicated problem. We do this by identifying the many different factors that contribute to risk; from obvious causes such as insufficient training and a lack of resources, to wider, more generalised problems, including the general misconception that health & safety is a hindrance to business.

Every workplace faces five core hazard types that all teams must recognise: ergonomic, chemical, biological, physical, and safety hazards.

Assess hazards based on exposure route and severity, then apply the hierarchy of control to eliminate or reduce risks at the source.

Asbestos remains one of the most serious workplace health risks, continuing to affect thousands of workers each year. The long latency of asbestos-related diseases reinforces the need for proactive risk management and continuous awareness.

Organisations must ensure proper training, accurate asbestos registers and clear communication to protect employees and contractors. A strong safety culture, where workers feel empowered to stop work and report concerns, is key to preventing exposure and saving lives.

Your workforce deserves better protection. See how Sevron can help at https://www.sevron.co.uk/.

September 2025, at least 19 people were hospitalised after chlorine was accidentally mixed with muriatic acid at a resort in Cebu, Philippines.

A pool cleaner poured chlorine into a pail. He thought it had water, but it actually had muriatic acid. After he threw it into the swimming pool, the chemicals violently exploded and released yellow, highly toxic chlorine gas.

Chlorine and muriatic acid react more readily in water because it allows the chemicals to mix and interact. Chlorine gas is very deadly. It burns the eyes, throat, and lungs and causes severe breathing problems.

In June 2022, at the Port of Aqaba in Jordan, a 25-tonne container of chlorine fell onto a ship and ruptured.

A cloud of bright yellow gas burst and spread to the surrounding area as people tried to run away as fast as possible.

Chlorine is a very deadly gas that turns moisture in the eyes and lungs into hydrochloric acid. The incident caused at least 12 deaths and 260 injuries. The investigation revealed there was gross negligence in safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and untrained personnel.

The rope sling used, rated at 8.5 tonnes, was not sufficient to hoist four 25-tonne containers.

This tragedy highlights the critical importance of accurate risk assessments, proper equipment ratings, and trained staff.
