At PROMEDIAIT, we believe that broadcast and live streaming technology should be tested in real-world conditions, not just on a desk.
During a recent trip to Southampton, we carried out a field test of the CNDLive X1 SDI/HDMI 4G Bonding Encoder together with the CNDLive Manager Max Bonding Server & 4K Decoder.
We tested the setup in multiple locations across the city, including a hotel lobby, lift, hotel room and even on the beach. The goal was simple: to see how stable the bonding workflow would be in different environments and with real mobile network conditions.
During the first test, we noticed that the X1 unit was affecting a low-cost microphone connected to a Panasonic GH5 camera, creating a specific noise/interference in the audio. Once the device was positioned at the right distance from the microphone, the problem disappeared and the system performed very reliably.
We also discovered that the EE SIM card worked straight away, while the Vodafone SIM required manual APN configuration. After this was set correctly, both SIM cards started sharing the transmission properly and the system worked as a true bonding solution.
From that point onwards, the remaining tests were smooth and stable.
Our conclusion: CNDLive X1 with Manager Max is a solid, professional bonding solution without subscription fees, ideal for mobile live streaming, remote production, broadcast contribution and ProAV workflows.
