One hearing loop at reception does not make the whole guest journey accessible.

Hotels, restaurants and event venues often have several places where clear communication matters: check-in and customer-service desks, meeting rooms, conference suites, wedding spaces and auditoriums.

A counter hearing loop supports one-to-one conversations at a defined position. Larger rooms need a separate induction loop design based on the seating plan, room construction, structural metal, audio inputs and possible overspill into neighbouring spaces.

Clear signage and staff awareness matter too. Guests need to know where the system operates, while staff should be able to perform a simple operational check. Each installed area should then be professionally tested and commissioned in accordance with IEC 60118-4.

During a healthcare reception inspection, we found this older induction loop amplifier requiring fault investigation. A power light alone does not confirm that users are receiving clear, consistent sound.

Front-of-house teams can perform a quick operational check using a loop listener. Professional induction loop testing can then assess field strength, frequency response and background magnetic noise against IEC 60118-4.

Hearing Loops UK recently installed an induction loop system to Mill Hall in Rayleigh, after it recently re-opened to the public after serving as a vaccination centre. After being contacted by the Council, who required the loop system to be installed prior to the Hall’s re-opening date a week later, we were able to attend within one working day to provide a quotation, before completing the installation two days later, ensuring the Council was able to open Mill Hall on time.
