What Happens If Your Internet Goes Down?

For most businesses, losing internet access means:

❌ No emails

❌ No Teams calls

❌ No cloud systems

❌ No customer service

❌ No productivity

Yet many businesses still rely on a single internet connection with no backup plan. 🤯

Business continuity isn't just about servers and backups. It's about ensuring your people can keep working when the unexpected happens.

How long could your business operate without internet access?

🌊 TSUNAMI COMPUTERS ON TOUR 🦊 ⚽

What do you get when you send Tsunami Computers Ltd's Sales Director Darren Bradbury and Escalation Engineer Stephen Shaw to Leicester City’s first home game of the season?

Two very happy men… and absolutely no shortage of opinions! 🤣

A few weeks ago, We headed down to the King Power Stadium to cheer on the Foxes as they took on Burton Albion.

The result? Leicester City 1-2 Burton Albion. 🤐

Not quite the performance we were hoping for, and one that certainly gave the keyboard warriors plenty to talk about!

But it got us thinking…Football teams need the right players in the right positions, working together as a team. Businesses need exactly the same thing with their IT.

The wrong technology, outdated systems, poor cybersecurity or IT problems left unresolved can quickly turn into a very expensive defeat.

Thankfully, at Tsunami Computers, we know a thing or two about making sure your technology is performing when it matters. 😉

And before the keyboard warriors start…

DISCLAIMER: Tsunami Computers Ltd are NOT Leicester City’s headline sponsor this season! 🤣

Sadly, the shirts in this photo are not evidence of a multi-million-pound sponsorship deal. This is purely a joke… although we are available for sponsorship negotiations, Leicester City. Just saying. 👀🤣

Morning all, I hope you’re all well.

I went for a lovely walk nice and early this morning, taking in some lovely sunshine and getting a few steps in at the same time.

As i walked, i was flicking through social media and I came across some quite deep quotes, none more so than this one…

If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.”

It’s a great quote for life… but it’s also incredibly relevant to IT.

Many businesses are still relying on the same old computers, outdated security, reactive IT support and the mindset of…”We’ll deal with it when something breaks.”

The problem is, today’s cyber criminals are constantly evolving and If your business is still using yesterday’s approach to IT, you’re exposing yourself to tomorrow’s risks.

The companies that thrive don’t wait for problems, they prevent them.

That means:
🛡️ Investing in proactive IT support.
🔐 Strengthening cyber security.
📧 Protecting staff with advanced email filtering.
☁️ Backing up critical business data.
📈 Planning for growth instead of reacting to downtime.

Doing what you’ve always done may have worked five years ago…but in today’s world, standing still is actually moving backwards.

If you’re wondering whether your IT is still fit for purpose, maybe it’s time to do something different.

A small investment today could prevent a very expensive problem tomorrow.

When was the last time your IT was reviewed by someone independent?

Morning guys, I hope you’re all well.

I’ve really been looking forward to getting into the office and making this video today, but due to unforeseen circumstances (A blooming power cut ⚡) I’ve ended up working out of a coffee shop this morning, But I’m not going to let that stop me telling you what I’ve got to tell you so please bear with me and hopefully you can hear me 🦻

I have a bit of a confession to make and it’s probably going to sound a little bit sad…I’ve got A little bit excited About our new brochure 🤣.

Now before you scroll thinking, ‘It’s only a brochure, Darren…just hear me out.

This isn’t one of those flimsy, folded bits of paper that ends up propping up a wobbly desk, this is our brand new Tsunami Computers Ltd brochure… and honestly, we’re ridiculously proud of it.

It’s sleek. It’s minimal. It feels amazing in your hands… and yes, I actually just said that about a brochure.

But here’s the clever bit…inside, every single one of our IT services has its own dedicated leaflet.

✅ Cyber Security? Covered.
✅ Managed IT Support? Covered.
✅ Cyber essentials? Covered.
✅ Cloud Solutions? Covered.
✅ Backups, Microsoft 365, Connectivity, Hardware… it’s all there.

No jargon. Just clear, simple information that explains exactly how we help businesses stay secure, productive and ahead of the game!

Instead of trying to squeeze everything onto one leaflet, we’ve created something that lets you explore exactly what matters to your business.

I genuinely don’t think you’ll have seen an IT brochure quite like this...It’s modern. It’s premium and it reflects exactly how we work at Tsunami Computers Ltd.

So if you’d like a copy, drop us a message, give us a call, or ask us when you next see us networking.

Who knew a brochure could be this exciting? (I can’t believe I’m saying that! 🤣)

🌐 Quick question...

If your internet connection went down right now, how long could your business continue operating?

For many organisations, the answer is...not very long.

Cloud systems, VoIP phones, email, Teams meetings, customer databases, they all depend on reliable connectivity.

Summer is an ideal time to review your connectivity, backup internet options and business continuity plans because when your connection goes down, productivity often goes with it.

Your technology works hard all year round. Summer is the perfect time to make sure it's receiving the care and maintenance it needs.

A proactive health check today could prevent costly disruption tomorrow.

Hey everyone 👋 hope your day’s going well?

We wanted to share something that keeps cropping up in conversations with businesses lately and that's the subject of phishing attacks. (You know which ones we're talking about - those dodgy emails that look almost real, but with one wrong click they can cause absolute chaos? 🙈)

The good news is you don’t need to be an IT expert to keep your business safe. Here are 5 simple steps you (and your team) can take today:

1️⃣ Pause before clicking. If something feels off, it probably is. Double check the sender and hover over links before opening them.
2️⃣ Mix up your passwords. Don’t recycle the same one everywhere. (Yes, “Password123” doesn’t count 🙃).
3️⃣ Switch on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). That little extra step makes life way harder for hackers.
4️⃣ Keep things updated. Those pop-ups asking for updates aren’t just annoying, they’re patching security holes.
5️⃣ Get your team clued up. A quick bit of training can turn your people from the biggest risk into your best defence.

At Tsunami Computers, we’re all about making IT less scary and more secure, helping businesses put simple steps in place to stop threats before they even start.

👉 What about you? Have you ever spotted a phishing email that nearly had you hooked? Share your story below - let’s help each other stay safe.

💭 Why Do Businesses Really Have IT Support?

It’s an interesting question.

Most people think IT support exists to fix things when they break.

🙈 A laptop won’t turn on.
🙈 The internet goes down.
🙈 An email won’t send.
🙈 A printer decides it’s no longer interested in being a printer.

And yes, IT support helps with all of those things.

But if that’s all IT support does, then something has already gone wrong.

When it’s at it best, IT support is often invisible.

✅ You don’t notice when your backups run successfully every night.
✅ You don’t notice when your cyber security blocks a threat before it reaches your inbox.
✅ You don’t notice when your systems are patched, maintained and monitored.
✅ You don’t notice when your team can work seamlessly from home, from the office or on the road.

We all notice when those things don’t happen.

The reality is that businesses today don’t run on buildings, vehicles or equipment.

They run on information.

* Customer data.
* Financial records.
* Emails.
* Contracts.
* Systems.
* Processes.

Technology has become the foundation beneath almost every business, regardless of industry.

Which then makes us wonder…

Has the role of IT support changed?

Years ago, IT support was largely reactive.

Something broke.
Someone fixed it.

Today, it’s becoming something very different.

It’s about protecting productivity.
Reducing risk.
Creating resilience.
Helping businesses adapt to change.
Giving people confidence that the technology they depend on won’t let them down.

Perhaps the real purpose of IT support isn’t fixing computers at all.

Perhaps it’s creating certainty in an increasingly uncertain digital world.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts.

When you think about IT support, what do you actually value most?

🔹 Fast response times?
🔹 Cyber security?
🔹 Strategic advice?
🔹 Reliability?
🔹 Peace of mind?
🔹 Something else entirely?

We are genuinely curious whether business owners and leaders see IT support as a repair service, a business enabler, or something in between.
