Today, I came across this maintenance page while trying to access Namecheap.
At first glance, it may look like a simple website maintenance issue. But from a cybersecurity and IT infrastructure perspective, there is a much bigger lesson here.
Namecheap is currently dealing with an emergency affecting its infrastructure, with the company reporting a failure of cooling systems at its Phoenix data centre.
This highlights an important point:
Cybersecurity isn't only about stopping hackers. It's also about ensuring availability, resilience and business continuity.
When a critical technology provider experiences an outage, businesses can potentially lose access to:
