The new Skullcandy Supreme Sound Aviator Wrecked Metals have just landed at Discount Discs.
Priced at only £54.90 with free delivery this is a serious pair of headphones at a budget price.
They are part of Skullcandy’s new collaboration with the Wrecked Metal team to create the world’s first hot rod inspired headphone.
I tested them myself and was very impressed by the performance. The earcups are soft and really comfy, I wore them for a good few hours without any discomfort and the classic Aviator shape gives them that timeless classic look.
The sound is where they really excel against other headphones of a similar price. The bass is really punchy but not overpowering. The low mid/range reproduction is also impressive.
The headphones have a detachable cable which is an excellent idea as eliminates the need to wrap it round your smartphone. They also come with a handy carry bag which stops them getting scratched.
The noise isolation could be better, they are not as good as the dedicated noise cancelling headphones on the market but this is a not to noticeable and really I’m just nit picking.
The Aviators have the bonus of an in-line mic which is Ipod/Iphone/Ipad compatable.
The colour is a new one for this model and stands up well against our other stock of White or Black.
Overall I think the headphones are an impressive buy and would give them a strong 4 out of 5 for the performance and price.
