We are a creative communications studio, designing for partners word-wide from our base in Leeds, Yorkshire. We are currently based in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

We are Abigail and Chloe, a design duo, who are also known as Buttercrumble. We are passionate about collaborating with other creative people who believe in the power of good design.

📸 Caught in the act! snapped some wonderful photos of us illustrating guests at 's event at .restaurants, Leeds.

It was such a fun evening meeting new people, drawing portraits, and soaking up the atmosphere. This year, we're illustrating 400 portraits for , so it's fantastic to capture the progress. A big thank you to Lucille!

One of the best things about our work is seeing it enjoyed! 💛

A big thank you to for inviting us to illustrate at this recent VCSE engagement event. More than 50 people came together to talk about the future of the sector and to explore how they can collaborate across the York and North Yorkshire region. We enjoyed capturing this with visuals.

We felt privileged to be involved, as we're passionate about community engagement and social good. 💛

Our school reports always mentioned we were "quietly confident". We learnt that you don’t have to be the loudest voice in the room to make an impact!

The same goes when we're building our brand. Sometimes the most magnetic brands are the ones built with intention, care, and a quiet kind of confidence. If that sounds like you too… keep going. ✨

Do you know a distinguished, characterful and mature face? We want to see them! 😍

We've been illustrating hundreds of Leeds folk, but we want to illustrate more "lived-in" faces. If you have a brave grandparent, we'd be keen to draw their portrait.

Researchers, stop! ✋ As researchers, you may be used to writing long manuscripts and walls of technical, detailed text. However, translating to reach wider audiences can be challenging. We get it.

Creativity helps engage your audience with visuals that cut through the text and help them digest and understand your work. 🤓 It's what we love to do at Buttercrumble!

We recently performed visual note-taking for City St George’s, University of London. There, we attended their VISION conference, which shines a light on violence prevention. It's a real mix of researchers, criminologists, clinicians (and more), collaborating for health equality.

It was truly inspiring, and we felt privileged to be there, listening to their projects and impact. A huge thank you to the team for inviting us to illustrate.
