BACK OPEN - THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE!

The shop is open again today, Monday 12th October, from 9am.
Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding while I closed to walk-ins and spent time behind the scenes focusing on existing repairs.

As a one-man business, having that uninterrupted workshop time has been valuable, and I’m very grateful for your continued support.

If your device is still with me, I’ll contact you directly with updates and when it’s ready to collect. Please wait for confirmation before making a trip to collect it.
For new repair enquiries, you’re welcome to pop into the shop. I’ll explain the current turnaround times when booking your device in.

CUSTOMER NOTICE
CLOSED 5–9 OCTOBER

I’m very grateful for the steady flow of work coming into Technology Repair Centre and for everyone who continues to trust me with their devices.

As a one-man business, I carry out the repairs, serve customers and handle enquiries myself. The workload has now reached a point where I need some uninterrupted workshop time to catch up and give existing repairs the attention they deserve.

The shop will therefore be closed to walk-in customers from Monday 5th to Friday 9th October. I’ll be working behind the scenes throughout the week, focusing on jobs already booked in.

Reopening Monday 12th October at 9am.

If your device is already with me, work will continue during the closure. I’ll contact you with updates and when it’s ready to collect. Please wait for confirmation before travelling to the shop, as collections during the closure must be arranged in advance.

For enquiries, please leave a voicemail, email [email protected] or message this page. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can, although replies may take longer while I focus on repairs.

Thank you for your patience - particularly if you’ve been waiting longer than expected. Your support means a great deal, and taking this time will help me get back on track while maintaining the care and quality you expect.

Scott

A little Sunday humour… 😂

This happens more often than you might think!

I'll get a Facebook message asking about a repair, then a WhatsApp a couple of minutes later, followed by an email… and sometimes a voicemail as well. All from the same person, about the same repair. 😂

Technology Repair Centre is a one-man business, so whichever way you contact me, it's still me at the other end.

One message is enough 👍

If you message me outside opening hours or over the weekend, I'll get back to you as soon as I can when I'm back in the shop. There's no need to send the same enquiry through another app in case I've missed it.

Sending the same enquiry through several different apps won't get a quicker reply... it just gives Monday morning Scott a few more notifications to work through! 😂

I'm here Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, and I'll always reply as soon as I can.

Thanks as always for your patience and for supporting a small local business. ❤️

Need a repair price?
Here’s one thing that helps us give you an accurate quote…
When getting in touch about a repair, please have the make and exact model of your device handy if possible.

Why does it matter?

Two phones, tablets or laptops that look very similar can use completely different parts, and the cost of those parts can vary considerably between models.

For example, “Samsung Galaxy”, “iPad” or “HP laptop” tells us the type of device, but there can be hundreds of different models and variations within each range.

Knowing the exact model allows us to:

• Identify the correct replacement part
• Give you an accurate repair price
• Check part availability
• Give you a better idea of turnaround time

Not sure what model you have? No problem.

Simply pop into the shop with the device and we will identify it for you.

A minute spent identifying the correct model means we can give you the right information and an accurate quote from the start.

LOCAL BUSINESS OWNERS - PLEASE BE CAREFUL

Today I received what appears to be a Meta Business Manager Partner Request email from [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).

The email itself looked genuine, which is exactly why I'm sharing this warning.

If you receive an unexpected request claiming someone wants access to your Facebook Business Manager:

🚫 Do NOT click any links in the email.
🚫 Do NOT log in through the email.
🚫 Do NOT approve the request without verifying it first.

Instead:

✅ Open your browser manually
✅ Go directly to Meta Business Suite yourself
✅ Log in normally
✅ Check whether any requests are actually present

Many scams rely on creating urgency and getting you to click a link before you stop to think.

Remember:

Just because an email appears to come from an official address does NOT automatically mean the request is legitimate.

If the wrong person gains access to your Business Manager, they could potentially gain access to:

• Your page
• Instagram Account
• Advertising Accounts
• Business Assets
• Business Information

It only takes a few seconds to verify a request directly through Meta, but it could save your business from a major problem.

Please share this post to help other local business owners stay safe.

Facebook Charging You? Read This First.

We’ve had a lot of customers coming into the shop worried Facebook is about to start charging them.

It isn’t.

You do NOT need to pay to keep using Facebook.

Here’s what’s happening 👇

Meta now shows a screen giving you two choices in the UK:

Option 1 – Subscribe (approx £2.99/month)
• No adverts
• Your data not used for personalised ads

Option 2 – Use for free with ads
• Exactly how Facebook has always worked
• Completely free
• Adverts remain

If you want to keep using Facebook for free:

✅ Tap “Use for free with ads”
✅ Press Continue
✅ Done

You will not be charged.

This is simply a privacy and advertising choice screen, not a bill, not a scam, not a payment demand.

If this helps, feel free to share it.
It might stop someone else worrying unnecessarily.
