📞 Can’t hear calls properly? It might not be the phone…
A customer popped into the shop today because he couldn’t hear anything properly during phone calls on his iPhone 12 Mini.
He thought the speaker had failed.
The issue actually started right after he visited a kiosk in Stirling to have a screen protector fitted.
Within seconds of checking the phone, the problem was obvious 👇
The screen protector fitted was for an iPhone 13 Mini and didn’t have a cut-out for the earpiece speaker, meaning the sound literally couldn’t pass through.
On top of that, the charging port and loudspeaker grille were quite grubby, which wasn’t helping either.
What we did:
• Removed the incorrect screen protector
• Carefully cleaned the speaker and charging port
• Fitted a proper hydrogel screen protector designed for the correct model
Result: Clear calls again and one very happy customer.
⚠️ A quick bit of honest advice
We strongly recommend avoiding:
• Phone kiosks
• General hardware shops
• V**e shops
• Food takeaways
that offer “phone repairs on the side”
Mobile phone repairs aren’t a side job for us, they’re what we do all day, every day.
Correct parts, correct fitment, and proper testing make all the difference.
If something doesn’t feel right with your phone, pop it in and let someone who actually repairs phones take a look.
