Bringing together local businesses, trainers, coaches, and mentors, CODE Lancashire helps individuals to develop sector-specific skills and connects employers with potential candidates, creating a new generation of digital talent. The programme involves 80 hours of guided learning support via group sessions, which includes around 60 hours of technical skills learning and 20 hours focused on employ

ability. A further 5 hours of one-to-one mentoring will get participants ready for employment, with a guaranteed interview on completion. CODE Lancashire is fully funded by the Department of Education and Lancashire County Council and open to all residents in Lancashire aged 19 and over. Digital Skills Bootcamps are part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee to help everyone gain valuable Skills for Life.

In our latest session at CODE Lancashire, learners explored the foundations of - a field that’s more accessible than ever. Gone are the days of needing to be a "unicorn" with expertise in everything. Now, the industry needs "racehorses"—professionals who specialize, collaborate, & deliver results. 🏇
From uncovering insights in to understanding how data shapes industries, our learners are preparing to contribute meaningfully to the tech landscape.

When the code finally runs on the first try... pure joy! 🤯

For many of us, the journey into coding started with a moment of curiosity—a spark that opened a door to endless possibilities. For some, it was tinkering with computers, while for others, it was stumbling upon books like BASIC (Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code). 😎

Back then, we might not have understood the weighty acronyms. Instead, we saw "BASIC" as what it truly was: something "essential." And that’s the beauty of coding—it starts with small, simple steps that lead to powerful, creative solutions.

Project Management Myths We’ve All Believed - Until Now! 🙈

At CODE Lancashire, we dug into this very question with Aditya Kadam during a fun session on the fundamentals of project & product management. The session busted some of the biggest myths in project management - ones we’ve all believed at some point.

1️⃣ "Project management is only for big projects."
- Even the smallest tasks benefit from a bit of structure.
2️⃣ "You need to micromanage for success."
- Micromanaging kills creativity. Trust your team.
3️⃣ "The more tools, the better."
- Too many tools = chaos. The right tools = clarity.
4️⃣ "Once the plan is set, it can't change."
- Plans evolve. Being flexible is half the job.
5️⃣ "All you need is a good plan."
- Ex*****on & teamwork matter just as much.
6️⃣ "Only experienced professionals can manage projects."
- With the right mindset & tools, anyone can manage a project, regardless of experience.

Our learners left with a clearer understanding of how to navigate projects with confidence & efficiency. 😎

How much fun can you have while coding in python? Turns out - a lot! 🐍 😎

From cracking jokes to cracking code, our learners at CODE Lancashire had their first session with Andre Chicrala, all about smiles, jokes, & learning!

Python's versatility makes it the go-to language for everything from data analysis to web development, & our learners are already diving right in!

Next up? They’ll be creating their own projects & analysing fascinating datasets with python.

We had a packed room this week as Cohort 9 officially began, each seat filled with a story, a goal, & a drive to grow. It’s always inspiring to see people from all backgrounds diving headfirst into tech, ready to learn, grow, & embrace new challenges.

This first day was a reminder of why we do what we do at CODE Lancashire — supporting each learner as they take a leap of faith, learn new skills, & build something meaningful.

🚀 Quality Engineering Session : Hands-On Experience with Mike Horn! 🚀
