Ever wondered what the brain behind Red Kite is really like?

Well you're in luck! Introducing our amazing Founder & Director, John Chandler, answering a few questions about himself and Red Kite!

How long have you been in the electronics game?

After I left school I moved into electronics at GSPK electronics just before my 19th birthday. Spending 7 years there moving up the ranks from PCB assembly, to production planning and internal sales. Before in Nov 96 I was head hunted by Chase Advanced Technologies for the position of Sales Engineer, soon becoming Sales Manager. But towards the end of 99 decided I'd be better off starting my own business, Anode Electronics Ltd!

When did Red Kite become an idea?

Having spent a year out of electronics after selling Anode, renovating a house and looking after my elderly mum. I decided it was time to get back in business so founded Red Kite! Originally running it from "The Innovation Centre" a purpose built very posh shed at home...

What sort of hobbies do you have?

I have a life long obsession with motorbikes passed on from my late dad. I love racing bikes, particularly sidecars and have competed all over the country including the Isle of man TT!

Do you have any guilty pleasures?

I drink far too much Guinness, eat too much curry and still think I can play rugby.
