Practest

Practest Practest is reshaping the landscape. Our innovative solutions will streamline patient care and increase efficiencies with day to day patient requirements.

With intelligent systems, AI driven administration, and seamless access to healthcare. Practest helps GP practices reduce pressure by making patient communication clearer and easier to manage. We design accessible, patient-friendly practice websites with intuitive online forms for everyday requests, alongside supportive digital communications and social media that help patients understand how and

where to access care. By improving clarity and signposting, fewer people need to phone, chase, or book the wrong appointment. This frees up time for your team to focus on care that really needs a human touch. Changes are introduced gradually, at a pace that works for your practice, with no big system overhauls. Just practical, manageable improvements that fit around how you already work.

Most digital projects in healthcare practices start with the wrong question.

It's not "which platform should we use?" or "do we need an app?"

It's: "what's actually getting in the way for patients and staff right now?"

That's where we start.

Nothing like getting together in person to share ideas and spark new thinking about what’s next.

Hannah and Sacha were in London yesterday for another Practest meetup. Plenty to do!

How many of your calls today could have been answered by your website?

Often the information is already there, it's just buried, or written in a way that patients don’t quite understand.

So they pick up the phone.

Practest helps to make information easier to find and easier to understand:
➡️ Clear pathways
✏️ Plain language
📱 Digital journeys designed around how patients actually think

When patients understand what to do first time, the whole experience feels calmer.

Technology should empower care, not automate it away.

Digital access isn’t going anywhere.

But when systems are built around speed, not people, things start to feel harder — for patients and for practice teams.

Getting digital right doesn’t mean adding more complexity.
It means clearer routes to care, better guidance, and a bit more breathing space.

We’ve shared more in our latest blog: https://practest.io/2026/01/15/technology-should-empower-care-not-automate-it-away/

AI is everywhere right now. But what does it actually look like in practice?

Our cofounder Sacha recently had the opportunity to travel to Paris and Cannes as part of an AI International Learning Journey with 20 other Scottish Business Leaders — trusty travel hat firmly on — to explore what's really happening in the world of AI right now.

From the British Embassy in Paris to the World AI Cannes Festival, she got to connect with some brilliant minds, including teams at Quantalogic, Libertify, HUB Institute, XRPL Commons, MaestrIA Partners and Delos Intelligence.

The pace of development and sheer volume of information was quite overwhelming!

The biggest takeaway?

AI in healthcare has huge potential, but a lot of it is still fragmented, and patient experience often isn't front and centre. That's something we care deeply about at Practest. Efficiency and accuracy are important, but not at the expense of the patient's journey.

We’re sure there will be more insights and reflections to follow – Sacha is busy compiling her notes (no doubt with a bit of help from AI)!

Thank you to Scottish Enterprise for organising the programme and to Highlands and Islands Enterprise for their support with travel costs. Sacha was also warmly adopted by the Highlands and Islands Enterprise team, and it was a brilliant few days getting to know them and the other leaders on the programme.

We're grateful for this opportunity and excited to bring these insights into improving patient experiences and helping busy practices reclaim time for care. More to come!

What if clearer patient communication did most of the work for you?

At Heilendi Practice, simple, consistent social media posts were used to guide patients to an intuitive practice website — helping them quickly find the right information and use clear online forms for straightforward requests like sick notes.

No big campaign.
No complicated system or process overhaul.

Just clear messages, shared regularly and an intuitive website, pointing patients to the right place.

Evolution Not Revolution
2026 doesn't need a complete digital overhaul. You don’t have time for that!

What actually creates change? Small, strategic improvements that compound:
📝 Online form handles sick note requests
🧭 Clear website guiding patients to the right service
💬 Consistent social posts answer common questions before they’re asked

By spring, you've saved dozens of hours weekly — without training sessions or system disruptions.

The practices making real progress aren't doing everything at once. They're choosing the right next step, then building from there.

How does social media help healthcare practices?

Many practices hesitate to use social media, thinking it'll create more work.

Used strategically, it does the opposite.

One clear post showing how to request a sick note can reduce related calls for weeks.

The key is to treat social media like patient education:

✅ Share how-to information
✅ Direct to online services
✅ Answer common questions

What questions does your reception team answer most? Those are your posts.

A warm welcome to Andrew!

We’re really pleased to welcome Andrew Moss to the Practest team.

Andrew has joined us in a business development role, working with GP practices across the UK.

He brings ten years’ experience across healthcare and technology, most recently working for Optum (formerly EMIS), so he really understands how digital tools can improve the day-to-day realities for GP practice staff.

Andrew’s already making a big impact. And although we didn’t let on at the time, he actually joined us back in November for our strategy day in snowy Inverness, where we bonded over a shared love of skiing and travel ⛷️✈️ He’s just returned from a family trip to Australia and New Zealand and is now fully stuck in.

We’re really glad to have him on board and can’t wait to see the impact he’ll make.

Welcome to the team, Andrew!

Digital access matters for everyone.

Yesterday was International Day of Persons with Disabilities, reminding us that not everyone experiences the world (or the web) in the same way.

For many patients, an inaccessible website or clunky online form isn’t just frustrating, it’s a real barrier to care.

That’s why we believe digital design should be simple, inclusive and human, so no one gets left behind.

NHS England’s digital accessibility guidelines are a great place to start: https://www.england.nhs.uk/long-read/creating-a-highly-usable-and-accessible-gp-website-for-patients/

But we know it can feel like a lot. At Practest, we help GP practices build websites and digital tools that meet these guidelines, remove barriers, and make it easier for everyone to access the care they need.

Small changes can make a big difference and we’re here to guide you.
