💡 Did You Know? Sometimes buying can make more sense than hiring.
We recently supplied our third building to Branston Ltd, the potato supplier near Lincoln — but this one came with a few extra challenges.
This time, Branston Ltd needed a building that would serve as a welfare facility inside a warehouse for just 30 weeks.
It needed to be highly specific, including:
✔️ Stainless-steel hand-washing trough with four knee-operated taps
✔️ Four electric hand dryers
✔️ Non-slip flooring
✔️ Large effluent tank
✔️ Two steel Kirncroft doors with vision panels and digital locks
✔️ Two sets of steel steps with adjustable legs
And the whole building had to be supplied and installed within just three weeks.
Hiring a building to these exact requirements wasn't really a practical option, so we came up with another solution.
We supplied a brand-new building, with an agreed buy-back price after the 30-week period.
This gave Branston several options — they could continue using the building, sell it on for another project, or sell it back to us. We also included the cost of removing it from the warehouse and returning it to our premises in East Yorkshire.
It’s a good example of why it’s worth considering buying rather than automatically hiring, especially when you need a building designed around specific requirements.
And if a project runs longer than expected, you still have an asset rather than simply continuing to pay hire charges.
Every project is different, so it's worth doing the sums before deciding which route is best for you.
At New Cabin Space, we don't just supply buildings — we look at the problem and help find a practical solution.
