We'd like to say a big thank you to The Purfleet Trust for the lunch on Wednesday to celebrate the new van being put into action..

If you’re not familiar with them, The Purfleet Trust is a local charity, established in 1993, supporting people experiencing homelessness across King’s Lynn and West Norfolk.

The van plays a key role in their work, collecting donated furniture from across the area and helping deliver their House2Home packages. These provide everything someone needs when moving into a new tenancy, giving them a proper fresh start.

ECS are delighted to support the van alongside many other fantastic local businesses, as you can see.

Please take a moment to visit their page and see the great work they’re doing.

We've just renewed our Cyber Essentials certification again for 2025 — a small but important part of how we keep things secure at ECS.

It helps protect our own systems and plays a part in keeping our customers’ data safe too.

Cybersecurity is never “done,” but we’re always working behind the scenes to stay one step ahead.

Free Cyber Awareness Training Video:

🎣Spear phishing - Nope, it's not about fishing for actual fish—but it does involve bait!

Check out this free snippet from our Cyber Awareness Training platform, and learn what spear phishing REALLY means in IT.

🔹 Targeted Attack
Specifically hooks individuals or organisations, not fish.

🔹 Personalised Bait
Attackers cleverly use personal details to reel you in.

🔹 Dangerous Catch
Falling for spear phishing could lead to data breaches and serious security damage (and no tasty seafood dinners).

Directors Toni & Peter have been off on their travels, visiting their daughter in sunny Australia. "Time for a switch-off," they said...
Well, that didn’t last long — MDR ratted them out quicker than you can say “throw another shrimp on the barbie”! 🦐🔥

Yep — ECS Managed Detection & Response spotted an unusual login from Down Under and instantly flagged it as suspicious. Turns out, Peter logged into Microsoft 365 from his phone while soaking up the sun.
MFA was in place, so no harm done — but still, it’s good to know MDR is watching things even when the directors are half a world away.

ℹ️ Take a look at the event below:

The M365 Foreign Country Access Event detection is designed to identify potentially suspicious login activities from foreign countries that are unusual for both individual users and the organization. In this case, an O365 session was established for the user account "peter" from IP address ###.xx.xx.xx, located in Australia (AU).

The login attempt was successful and originated from an Android device. The account has Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled, which reduces the risk associated with this event. The user typically accesses M365 from IP address xx.xx.xx.xx in King’s Lynn, GB, making this Australian access location highly unusual.

Another user named "Toni" has previously accessed M365 from the same source location 57 times, which somewhat reduces the risk assessment.

Would you have known about this?
