💙 5 years of being employee-owned!

Five years ago, Microtech took a pretty exciting step and became an employee-owned business.

Since then, we’ve continued to grow, bring new people into the team, take on new challenges and most importantly, build the business together.

Being employee-owned means everyone has a part to play in Microtech’s success. It’s something we’re incredibly proud of, and it’s brilliant to see more businesses discovering the benefits of employee ownership and taking inspiration from our journey.

Five years later, we’re still learning, still growing and still doing things our way. 🙌

🩺 Know Your Numbers

Microtech are proud to support Blood Pressure UK’s Know Your Numbers! Week, helping to raise awareness of the importance of knowing your blood pressure.

High blood pressure is one of the most common health conditions in the UK, and often has no obvious symptoms. The only way to know if your blood pressure is high is to have it checked.

That’s why accessible blood pressure checks in community settings can play such an important role in preventative healthcare.

Our HealthPods make it easier for people to check their blood pressure as part of their everyday lives, helping residents become more aware of their health and encouraging them to take action where needed.

Early awareness can help people make positive changes, seek further advice and reduce the risk of health conditions becoming more serious.

By bringing preventative health support into community spaces, we can help remove some of the barriers people may face when accessing healthcare and give more people the opportunity to understand and take control of their health.

We’re delighted to share that the Community HealthPod Initiative, launched through the Brent Health Matters programme, has successfully secured its licence renewals for the next three years 🎉

First launched as a pilot in 2025, the initiative was designed to bring health and wellbeing support closer to residents across Brent, and it has already shown the real value of meeting people where they are.

The HealthPods provide welcoming, accessible spaces where residents can:
✅ Check their heart rate, blood pressure, and BMI
✅ Access advice on smoking and alcohol cessation
✅ Be signposted to mental health support and other wellbeing services

This pilot has helped reduce barriers to healthcare and tackle health inequalities across our communities, making it easier for residents to access support in familiar local settings.

This week, we had the pleasure of showcasing MiHealth Solutions HealthPod to CentreStage in Kilmarnock.

CentreStage is an Ayrshire-based charity dedicated to changing lives through the power of the arts, creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to fulfil their potential.

We had a fantastic discussion about bringing the HealthPod to the centre and how this community hub could help residents and local people stay on top of their health and wellbeing.

We’re excited about the potential benefits this could bring to the wider community and look forward to continuing the conversation with the CentreStage team.
