We’re delighted to share that the Community HealthPod Initiative, launched through the Brent Health Matters programme, has successfully secured its licence renewals for the next three years 🎉

First launched as a pilot in 2025, the initiative was designed to bring health and wellbeing support closer to residents across Brent, and it has already shown the real value of meeting people where they are.

The HealthPods provide welcoming, accessible spaces where residents can:
✅ Check their heart rate, blood pressure, and BMI
✅ Access advice on smoking and alcohol cessation
✅ Be signposted to mental health support and other wellbeing services

This pilot has helped reduce barriers to healthcare and tackle health inequalities across our communities, making it easier for residents to access support in familiar local settings.

This week, we had the pleasure of showcasing MiHealth Solutions HealthPod to CentreStage in Kilmarnock.

CentreStage is an Ayrshire-based charity dedicated to changing lives through the power of the arts, creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to fulfil their potential.

We had a fantastic discussion about bringing the HealthPod to the centre and how this community hub could help residents and local people stay on top of their health and wellbeing.

We’re excited about the potential benefits this could bring to the wider community and look forward to continuing the conversation with the CentreStage team.

We recently received some valuable feedback and insight on one of Microtech's MiHealth Solutions - the New Patient Registration. Users in Edinburgh are saying that 8/10 of them would recommend this solution to a colleague.

MiHealth's New Patient Registration lets patients register with their chosen practice anytime, reducing reception wait times and admin workload. They can complete registration and questionnaires at their own pace, without being restricted by opening hours.

Practices can easily manage, review, and transfer registrations within one system. Improving efficiency and accuracy while reducing manual updates. Patients can also update their details at any time.

Once processed, patients receive email updates on their registration status. NPR helps control patient numbers by setting weekly sign-up limits and defining a catchment area. Practices can also customise registration forms with additional questions to suit their needs and minimise follow-ups.

The survey provided great insight from our users; how easy it was to use, how much time it saved when registering patients, and how it improved the registration process.

New Patient Registration is one of our solutions that aim to deliver benefits both to the health and care economy, and improve the lives of individual patients.

The most recent updates to QoF has made online patent registration a requirement for streamlining GP registration throughout England.

"We will amend the core practice contract to mandate the use of online registration in all registration cases. Practices will be required to enter information from paper registration forms into the national online registration system and ensure that changes to practice boundaries submitted through NHS England’s digital catchment tool are approved by the ICB. "
