A possible replacement OUTPUT Transformer for a LANEY LC15-110 Combo Guitar Amplifier

The following is a DM received from an audio engineer who fitted our R35A13F Output Transformer to their LANEY LC15-110
Received the Blues Junior push pull transformer OK and I have fitted it to my Laney LC15-110 combo. It works great as I thought it would. Although not a drop-in replacement as the original output transformer which is horizontal mounted, it’s not a difficult job though for someone who knows what they are doing, see attached images how I fitted it. All that is needed are a couple of 4mm bolts and some sleeving to insulate the terminals of the new transformer, you could actually use the bolts off the original transformer. The transformer is mounted inside the chassis and it’s a good idea to remove the paint from around the mounting screw holes to get a good ground connection to the transformer mounting bracket.
The connections to the new transformer as follows:
Laney LC15 Wiring R35A13F Transformer Terminals

• Red (primary) 10
• Black (primary centre tap) 8
• Blue (primary) 6
• Black (secondary ground) 15
• Red (secondary 8 ohm) 13

Please note I know that on some Laney LC15's a 16 ohm loudspeaker is sometimes fitted, it’s as well to check this, if this is the case the red secondary should be wired to terminal 12.
The Laney LC15 is known to have an unreliable output transformer so the R35A13F is a great replacement at a cost effective price. A like for like transformer is available from some German suppliers but at a more expensive price and these maybe prone to failure as well. The R35A13F does look to be a more robust component than the original.

TRANSCRIPTOR HYDRAULIC REFERENCE
Turntable (similar to the one Transcriptors supplied for the 1971 classic, A Clockwork Orange) - this one we have serviced and replaced various parts... silicone fluid for platter well and Hydraulic tonearm, replace bearing lubricant, new drive belt, service reed switch, new platter weight pads, and freed up the stroboscope which had become very stuck! we also replaced the RCA plugs and cabling which had seen better days.. SONY's flagship hi-end CDP-X7 ESD CD player (1988 to 1990). Drawer mechanism failed to open, so a case of finding and changing the belt(s). Access to belts is (as discovered) from below... 🙃 so another 19 screws later access to belts discovered. SONY no longer manufacture original belts, but found an exact match for one, and one as near as for the other. CD player now back working... weighs a tonne, draw mechanism is as quiet as a mouse (result of Sony's JAPANESE demand for quality) Discovered on various forums (from those who know more than me on this) that these CD players are somewhat over engineered, with CERAMIC (Not plastic) feet. Digital and analogue outputs... balanced XLR, OPtical and COAX digital and Fixed + Variable RCA outputs. Unfortunately no remote control.. otherwise a great find. A chance to work on a GARRARD 301. This one was found by it's lucky new owner with cables and the pick-up missing... but everything else was there including the SME 3009 tonearm. A great find and nice to work on...
