Fresh insights, big conversations and plenty of practical takeaways ✨ Yesterday’s trip to MAD//Fest 2026 gave us lots to bring back to IceBlue.

This year’s theme, “The Human Touch”, felt especially relevant in a marketing world where AI, automation and endless content creation are moving faster than ever.

Across the talks, workshops and conversations, one message became clear: technology can be an incredible tool, but it is the human thinking behind it that makes the difference.

For us, the biggest takeaway was not about using AI to replace creativity, strategy or connection. It was about learning how to use it more thoughtfully to bridge gaps, support better decisions and keep human thinking at the centre of creative work.

It was a fantastic celebration of creativity, innovation and perspective, giving us plenty to reflect on and bring back into future client work.

When developing a new component, issues such as uneven wall thickness, sharp corners, poor draft angles or unsuitable material choices can all cause delays once the project reaches tooling or manufacturing 🛠️

By reviewing your desired part early, testing its practicality and considering how it will be moulded, manufacturers can reduce the risk of costly changes later in the process.

At Chess Plastics, we support customers from initial CAD design through to 3D printing, tooling and plastic injection moulding, helping make sure parts are practical, reliable and ready for production ☎️

Our creative team at IceBlue had a brilliant time at Birmingham Design Festival 2026! ✨

Now in its eighth year, the festival brought creatives together in the heart of Birmingham to celebrate this year’s theme, ‘Change’.

Across the talks, workshops and events, our team came away feeling inspired, energised and full of fresh ideas. Thursday evening’s main talk, World Changers, was a real highlight, with thought-provoking talks from Cold War Steve, Nellie Scott, Executive Director of the Corita Art Center, and Led By Donkeys.

It was a fantastic celebration of creativity, perspective and the power of design to shape the world around us 💡

We are already looking forward to bringing some of that inspiration into future client work and seeing what next year’s festival has in store!

Yesterday, our accountants, Amy and Jake, travelled to London to attend Accountex 2026 👏

With more than 240 sessions and over 300 software suppliers to explore, the two-day event was packed with networking opportunities, live tech demos and valuable insights.

We are looking forward to seeing them return with fresh ideas, new knowledge and even more ways to help make our processes as efficient and effective as possible 📑

A fantastic day at the Data & Marketing Association conference at the Ham Yard Hotel yesterday!

A brilliant start with Rachel Aldighieri and Tony Miller setting the tone with a simple but powerful reminder – we belong together.

The team gained valuable insights from a range of inspiring speakers. Highlights included:

📜 Rt Hon Ian Murray MP on the role of data, innovation and policy in shaping the UK’s marketing and creative economy

📊 Eleanor Thornton-Firkin and Greg Clayton from Ipsos on navigating a rapidly changing society, and how brands can balance realism with empathy

👪 A thought-provoking session on marketing ethics with Leila Seith Hassan Seith-Hassan and Sue MacLure, exploring how data and AI decisions can impact trust

🎤 The Great Debate, where Rak Patel, Charlotte Langley, Kate Taylor Tett, Vicky Brunwin and Pippa Morris explored whether purposeful marketing still holds relevance

And of course, no DMA conference would be complete without a bit of fun… a spontaneous sing-along and some impromptu dancing from the team. A great reminder of just how important human connection and community really are. Thank you, Mark De-Lisser, Vocal Coach on The Masked Singer 🎶

We ended the day with a standout keynote from Lea Karam, unpacking why people really make the choices they do. A brilliant reminder that even in a world driven by data and AI, great marketing still starts with understanding people.

A day full of insight, perspective and energy and a great reminder of why this industry continues to evolve.
