"What's the Wi-Fi password?"

It's usually one of the first questions a visitor asks. Handing it over is easy. The harder question is what they can reach once they're connected.

A network called "Guest Wi-Fi" doesn't mean it's separate. If guests share a network with your tills, servers, printers and CCTV, you've given them more than an internet connection.

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month 🔐

We’re not here to scare anyone. No doom, no gloom, and definitely no “hackers in hoodies” stock photos.

Just useful, honest conversations about keeping your business safe.

So, we’re starting with some of the things we hear most often from businesses across Cumbria and the North West. They might sound reasonable, but they don’t quite match how technology and cyber security work today:

“We use Microsoft 365, so everything’s backed up”

Since becoming the charity’s IT support partner in 2022, iTek has worked alongside Age UK South Cumbria to improve its technology, strengthen security and provide responsive support across the organisation.
