Was really good to meet up with author Ashley and his partner Colin, he gave us a copy of the fourth book we have now done for Ash, we had a great lunch up at the Dog and Gun at Leeming.

Last week we met up with Ashley the author of his new book Midland Red Influence, we have typeset Ashley's new publication. This obviously was that the venue had to be transport related - so it was on board railway carriages for lunch.

From Ashley's words and pictures, we make the books look as attractive as they do. The process usually starts with a telephone call - usually lasting about an hour and a half to discuss styles and layouts, size of pictures, chapters and titles. Then comes the difficulty in making it all fit into the exact and fixed number of pages we have available . . . it isn't easy! Then magically we make it all happen.

Thanks to Ashley for supplying us so many fascinating old photographs and the words to go with it. Looking forward to doing the third book.

Just to note we are still very much open for any jobs that might be needed, whether it for print or just on-line. I have just finished a 128 page book on Midland Red buses, actually was a lot more interesting than you might think !

Here at Prestset we have entered the digital Kindle Book market with the launch of an espionage thriller on Amazon. Recently we have already published conventional printed books for three local authors.

TRANSITIONS written by John Julian (Gibb) is our first foray into the digital book market, it is a fictional story based loosely on his own experiences working as a photojournalist in Bosnia, Rwanda and Sierra Leone. We have both known John since he worked for my dad in the advertising department at Magnet with Kathryn in the 80s, John was the company photographer and Kathryn was the typesetter doing all the catalogue work, it was really nice when John contacted us for help publishing his first book. We are already working on his next novel 'The Sometime House' and enjoying the task of creating the artwork including designing the covers.

This week we have published a soft back book for Catherine Taylor an experienced psychotherapist and mind-body medicine practitioner who after over 20 years experience has put pen to paper to provide a written framework for healing and thriving in life.
