Spyware and adware often sneak onto devices without you realising.

Spyware quietly monitors activity, potentially capturing passwords, emails, or browsing habits.

Adware floods your screen with unwanted ads and can slow devices down or open the door to more serious threats.

Keeping software up to date, avoiding suspicious downloads, and using proper security tools can dramatically reduce the risk.

LLM Data Exposure: the quiet risk hiding in everyday AI use

Large Language Models (LLMs) are powerful productivity tools but they’re also not designed to understand confidentiality. When staff paste emails, code, contracts or customer data into public AI tools, that information may leave your control entirely.

Common risks include:
• Sensitive data being logged or stored by AI providers
• Accidental disclosure through AI outputs
• Compliance issues (GDPR, IP protection, client confidentiality)

AI can be used safely but now is the time to implement:
• Clear AI usage policies
• Approved, secured AI tools
• Staff training on what must never be shared

If your business is using AI without the appropriate policies, it’s time to review the risk.

No signal? No stress. You can download maps in Google Maps and still get directions even without mobile data or Wi‑Fi.

How to do it:
Open the Google Maps app
Make sure you’re online and signed in
Tap your profile picture (top right)
Select Offline maps
Tap Select your own map
Adjust the area you need
Tap Download

This works on iPhone and Android, it saves mobile data and is ideal for rural areas.

How to Turn On Undo Send in Outlook

Outlook on the Web (Outlook Online):
This is the version most people use via a browser and it’s the easiest place to enable Undo Send.

Open Outlook Online: https://outlook.office.com
Click the Settings icon (top right)
At the bottom of the panel, click View all Outlook settings
Go to Mail & Compose and reply
Scroll to Undo send
Drag the slider to choose a delay: 0–10 seconds
Click Save

How it works:
After you hit Send, an “Undo” link appears at the bottom of the screen for the number of seconds you selected.

New Outlook for Windows (the one that looks like the web version):
Microsoft is rolling out Undo Send here too, check if your version has it.

Open Settings
Go to Mail
Look for Undo Send
Set a delay and save

If you’re using the new Outlook UI, it will look almost identical to the web settings.

Classic Outlook App (the old desktop version):
Classic desktop Outlook does NOT include Undo Send, but you can create a rule that delays every outgoing email slightly:

Go to File & Manage Rules & Alerts
Choose New Rule
Start from a blank rule and Apply rule on messages I send
Add a condition only if you want (or skip)
Select “Defer delivery by X minutes”
Set 1–2 minutes
Save

This won’t give you a button, but it will delay all outgoing mail so you can catch mistakes.

Outlook Mobile (iOS/Android)
Undo Send is being introduced gradually, but not all accounts have it yet.
If available:

When you press Send, an Undo option briefly appears at the bottom.
There is currently no configurable delay in mobile settings.

What happens during a ransomware attack?

Someone clicks something they shouldn’t, usually a phishing email, fake invoice, or malicious attachment.

The attacker gets inside quietly. They don’t lock everything immediately. They sit in your system, sometimes for days or weeks.

They spread across your network looking for: file servers, backups, shared drives, admin accounts.

They steal your data. Before encrypting anything, they often copy sensitive data.
This allows them to threaten public leaks.

They encrypt your systems and suddenly: files won’t open, systems go down, staff can’t work, a ransom note appears

You face a difficult decision: Pay the ransom? Restore from backup? Report a data breach?

Most small businesses don’t realise they’ve already been breached until it’s too late.

Reduce your risk by enabling multi-factor authentication, enable email filtering, limit admin access, introduce staff awareness training, enforce regular patching and test your backups regularly
