Another happy customer reunited with their beautiful Marantz 2285B after a spot of repair and upgrade. LED lighting installed, replacement headphone socket and new output capacitors to rectify a very noisy output. We had to create a bespoke 3D print to accommodate the change from dual caps to the new single shell ones, but a fun challenge to undertake.

Recently I had the absolute pleasure of working with a customer to make some modifications to a 1960’s Sinclair Project Sixty amplifier. I hadn’t seen one of these in the flesh before, so it was great to get into the unit and explore! Home built by the owner from a kit, this much loved amp needed a bit of attention to bring it back up to spec, and to add in the option for headphones and Bluetooth. I think that the most taxing part of the job was matching up the font for the decal on the new fascia panel for the switch and headphone socket! Fortunately the owner supplied the build documents which made the job far simpler. Minor modifications to the p60 board to allow modern pots, relocation of components for space, new wiring, resolder dry joints, clean and l**e switches, replace faulty components… really fun stuff. Thanks, Chris, for the opportunity to help bring this back up to spec, ready for many more hours of playtime.
