KCSiE 2025 Online Safeguarding Standards Are Here!

The latest KCSiE 2025 guidance sets out clear online safety expectations for schools.
Here’s what’s required:

• A whole-school approach to online safety
• Strong filtering & monitoring systems
• Online safety in the curriculum
• Staff and parental engagement
• New focus on misinformation, disinformation & conspiracy theories

KCSiE 2025 Guidance Now Published – What Schools Need to Know

The Department for Education has released the updated Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025 guidance – and while most changes are technical, schools still need to take action before September.

Key updates include:

• New RSHE and gender-questioning guidance (signposted for Sept)
• Online harms list now includes fake news & conspiracy theories
• Daily attendance data must now be submitted to the DfE
• More robust safeguarding checks for Alternative Provision
• Expanded (non-statutory) role for Virtual School Heads
