Larkspur may look soft, delicate and romantic, but it has a surprisingly dangerous side...

Every part of the plant is highly poisonous if eaten, for both people and animals. Its beauty definitely comes with a warning! 💜

But there's another fascinating fact about this cottage garden favourite: its petals can also be used to create natural dyes, producing beautiful soft blue, lavender and green tones depending on the mordant and fabric used.

Nature never ceases to amaze us—one plant can be both beautifully useful and something to treat with great respect.

There's something so lovely about stumbling across larkspur when you're least expecting it. 💜

I spotted these delicate blooms while I was out today, swaying gently in the summer breeze, and they reminded me why they've always been one of my favourite birth flowers.

Larkspur has such an effortless beauty—tall, graceful stems covered in tiny blossoms, each one adding to a sea of soft blues, purples, pinks and whites. They have a wonderfully wild, romantic feel that makes you stop and take notice.

As July's birth flower, larkspur symbolises positivity, grace and an open heart, making it a bloom that's as meaningful as it is beautiful.

Sometimes the best inspiration isn't found in a studio—it's waiting quietly beside a footpath.

First of all, I'd like to apologise for being a little quieter than usual and for taking longer than expected to reopen. Unfortunately, I've been unwell over the past week or so, so Bloom & Kin had to take a little pause while I focused on getting better.

I'm so grateful for your patience 🤍

I'm delighted to say that Bloom & Kin is officially back and open for business!

I've been working behind the scenes creating new designs, and I have some exciting news to share...

🌿 You'll be able to find Bloom & Kin at this year's Huntly Hairst on Saturday 5th September! 🌿

I'll be bringing along my collection of luxury hand-finished greeting cards, botanical prints and personalised keepsakes.
