Introduction:
We are an AV, lighting and audio installation, maintenance and hire business based in Huddersfield, west Yorkshire. We are looking to recruit an electrician to work with our installation and maintenance team.
The type of work we do is quite diverse, We do a lot of electrical maintenance work which includes Electrical testing, Pat testing and servicing of installed lighting and audio systems across a range of venues. Theatres, schools, bars, clubs, football stadiums, restaurants and other social venues.
We work as a team, so when you are out on the road or in the warehouse you’ll work with a Project manager, Site supervisor, senior installation engineer and electrical apprentice installation engineers.

Breakdown of position:
• Huddersfield based, Working on site around the UK
• Working hours vary depending on the site location and job in hand
• Working away is sometimes required
• The role is based on a 37.5 hour working week (this varies on what job are on at the time)
• Driving licence is essential, Preferably clean. Must be able to commute to Sound and light concepts head office in Huddersfield
• Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications

What’s the role:
You’ll be primarily installing, commissioning and carrying out routine maintenance in a variety of venues mainly schools but we do other venues as stated above. We are iso9001 accredited, so our standard of works are at the highest level.

What you must have:

• DBS CHECK ( WE CAN DO THIS IN HOUSE )
• EXPERIENCE IN ELECTRICAL TESTING (THIS IS THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF THE WORK)
• EXPERIENCE OF 1ST FIX CABLING AND CONTAINMENT RUNS, CABLE MANAGEMENT, TERMINATING AND SOLDERING, NETWORK TERMINATIONS, AV CONNECTORS AND AUDIO SIGNALING CONNECTORS ( IN HOUSE TRAINING CAN BE PROVIDED)
• AN UNDERSTAND OF MAINS POWER
• EXPERIENCE WITH AUDIO/LIGHTING SYSTEMS (IN HOUSE TRAINING CAN BE PROVIDED)

WHAT THINGS SHOULD I BE FAMILIAR WITH?

• READING CAD DRAWINGS, SCHEMATICS AND CABLE SCHEDULES
• WORKING INDEPENDENTLY AND REPORTING BACK TO MANAGEMENT
• HEALTH AND SAFETY
• SUPERVISING THE ELECTRICAL APPRENTICES OUT ON SITE AND SETTING A GOOD EXAMPLE

BONUS SKILLS:
• ANY OTHER ELECTRICAL QUALIFICATIONS (PAT testing etc)

Where’s the role:

Our office and warehouse is based in Huddersfield, west Yorkshire. However out sites typically range from Newcastle to Birmingham, The role sometimes requires a lot of travel so at times we’ll need to you be away for the whole week.

A few snaps of our small stage in use for the Pontefract Liquorice Festival. We supplied full technical production for the event featuring our dBTechnologies line array and monitors, Yamaha Commercial Audio desk, Sennheiser wireless mics with a basic colour wash delivered by our showtec LED pars.

Sound distribution for the parade was achieved via a point source system covering the corn market.

Its a pleasure to be back at The Queens Hotel, Leeds providing the Audio Visual equipment and production for the Ella Dawson Foundation Colour Ball 2025.

An incredible amount of money was raised throughout the night for the charity who support young adults live well with & beyond cancer.

Good Luck to Adam Waugh & Little Wren (Adam's self built sail boat) as they sail the mini globe race covering 28,000 nautical miles raising funds for the Ella Dawson Foundation.
