In this evening: Out with the old and in with the new. The left laptops data and applications are being migrated over to the new system on the right. A much better and more powerful system!

Once complete, all applications will be licensed and configured so the user can continue their accountancy business without any data loss or disruption.

Contact me to find out how I can support you or your small business.

Here’s a Dell Inspiron laptop that came in for repairs after recent updates prevented it from booting up. After troubleshooting, I identified Dell had released a problematic firmware patch which the owner applied to the computer. The patch has since been removed from Dell’s website but the damage cannot be reversed.

A new motherboard or BIOS chip with a soldering repair will be required to fix this one, along with going through the Bitlocker recovery process.

Evening all. Lack of updates again means just one thing - I've been extremely busy, so thanks for your ongoing business.

Some of the things through our doors recently starting with the top left. The capacitors on this motherboard had blown preventing the computer from booting up. The fans still spun, but smoke could be seen coming from it when it was powered on. Instead of spending lots replacing the computer and going down the data recovery route, I managed to get the existing hard drive and data working with a completely different motherboard and processor combo, so it booted up with all the original settings and without any data loss.

The top right laptop was brought in for a service and upgrade to Windows 11. There's a lot of unsupported Windows 10 systems out there - upgrading to 11 is easier than you may realise.

Bottom left is a new Crucial Airflow gaming case purchased as an upgrade for a customer. Their case had limited airflow causing temperature issues. This case was also fitted with a fan controller and addressable lighting controller for custom lighting.

The bottom right system was a PC brought in to be replaced for a new one. Applications and user data were migrated over to the new system so they could hit the ground running on the new PC without any major disruption.

I've also been involved with setting up new iPads, multi-screen home offices, rebuilding corrupted laptops and a whole range of other jobs.

For all your computer repairs, upgrades and anything else, please get in touch. - [email protected]

Hi all. Well we're about 6 weeks into January now. For those of you that are sticking to new years resolutions, healthy diets and improving yourself then fantastic work, keep it up.

Back to business. We've recently had this Huawei laptop in for a repair. The charging socket was mashed up badly and it would no longer switch on. After stripping down, our friends over at Mycomputerworks & Macrehab carried out a fantastic micro soldering repair to replace the socket. I've reassembled, tested and returned to my happy customer.

I’ve seen loads of posts online from people who received PC’s for Christmas which don’t work properly, followed by people offering lots of bad advice.

The first thing you should do is reach out to the company that supplied it and troubleshoot it with them.

I’ve also seen a few posts from people who have been sold “gaming computers” which would probably struggle to run a calculator. I hate seeing people ripped off but it happens all too often. For all your custom gaming and production PC builds, please get in touch. You won’t be disappointed.

Hi all. It has been mega busy leading up to Christmas so the social media has been neglected again. Here’s a few photos from recent work.

The first photo is of a gaming PC which I helped set up. This includes creating and configuring a child account, along with tidying up all the factory installed bloatware, replacing the antivirus and improving security.

The second is of laptop that came in for a memory upgrade and battery replacement, and a general once over to improve performance.

The third is a laptop which requires a new charging socket, which has been ordered.

For all your computer repairs and upgrades, please get in touch.
