Repair of a super high end gaming/work laptop, CPU fan died due to dirt/dust.

Both of the Graphics chip and CPU fans will be replaced while this is repaired.

New "EvilExtractor" Malware Stealer for Windows

A new malware username/password stealer/file encrypter is being sold to threat actors targeting windows systems, this malware has been spread and used in the wild since March 2023. Sold by an actor named Kodex on cybercrime forums like Cracked, this malware can even activate the we**am and capture screenshots.

The malware is also used in phishing email campaigns with emails to lure recipients into launching an executable to run the Evil Extractor.

Newly discovered Mac ransomware

The notorious hacker gang LockBit have created a version of the encryptor (Ransomeware) targeting new Macs running Apple processors and older Macs running Apple's PowerPC chips.

Mac security researcher and Objective-See Foundation founder Patrick Wardle was quoted “It would be naive to assume that LockBit won’t improve and iterate on this ransomware, potentially creating a more effective and destructive version."

YouTube Videos Distributing Aurora Stealer Malware

The highly evasive loader named "in2al5d p3in4er" is being distributed through Youtube videos and SEO-poised fake cracked software. Clicking on the link in the Youtube video comments, directs the user to a fake page where they can download the malware under the guise of a seemingly-legitimate utility. This malware is essentially being shared through convincing-looking fake websites (via Youtube), with the sole purpose being to distribute the stealer malware.

Although Chrome should update automatically this won't happen if you never close your browser, or if installed add-on's prevent the update by fault.
