Does steaming hay mean standing around for an hour? ⏳

Not necessarily. With the Simply Steam- Hay Steamers hay steamer, the hands-on part is much shorter than the full steaming cycle.

We loaded it, switched it on and got on with other yard jobs nearby while keeping an eye on it.

But how do you actually clean an automatic drinker? 💧

The Paxton WT4 has a large drain underneath, so you can empty the bowl, give it a clean, then screw it back on and let it refill.

Simple, quick, and much easier than leaving old water sitting in the bowl.

What’s actually different about a knotless haynet? 🌽

Still soaking hay when it gets dusty? 💧

How does an automatic drinker know when to stop?

The Paxton WT4 uses a simple float system to control the water level.

As the level drops, the float drops and lets more water in. Once the bowl fills back up, the float rises and shuts the water off again.

Would you ever feed a haynet from the ground? 👀

Some Nibbleze slow-feed nets can be used this way for suitable barefoot, unbooted horses, following the instructions for the specific net.

It can let horses eat with their head down rather than always feeding from a higher hanging net.
