Online Scam Prevention:
1. Do not click on links from people you do not know!
- if you decide to click on some link, especially what you receive in email, you can always check the URL or web address on sites like this: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload
There you can also check files for virus, however you should be aware that this files can be stored there and who knows who has access to them, so do not use it for confidential files.
2. If some unknown company contacts you then you should always do google search for their reviews, some times you can find mentions they are scammers.
3. Emails with endings like .com or .com and similar are more likely to be scam, if they are unknown to you and represents some well known company like [email protected] >>> This is not legitimate email.
4. Never provide remote access to your computer or mobile, if you do not know the company or they contacted you first!!! it is 99,999% Scam, who will pretend to provide some service for high fees, in hundreds.
5. If it sounds too good to be truth then it is scam.
6. Try to avoid clicking on adverts on Facebook or internet, rather do quick google search for the topic you seen in advert. Many times these ads are selling super cheap items what are scam, or redirect your browser to different page.
Note:
better then using google.com for search, is to use sites like duckduckgo.com, where most of the advertisement links are removed, especially if you turn off adverts in settings. And you also are not being tracked for what you are searching.
