💻 GTX 970 came into the shop today for a clean & repaste…

What we found? 😳
👉 No thermal paste left on the GPU die at all.
👉 Just dry contact and burnished marks on the heatsink.

Customer said temps “seemed fine”… but this card was on borrowed time.

We stripped it down, cleaned everything properly, and applied fresh MX-4 thermal compound 🔧

🔥 Result:
• Proper heat transfer restored
• Lower stress on the GPU
• Ready for a second life

This card was manufactured back in September 2014 — still going strong after a proper service 💪

Old tech doesn’t have to be thrown away.
