The Health Service Executive (HSE) has once again selected NEC Care to lead the National Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (UNHSP) in Ireland. Since the inception of this program in 2011, NEC has been at the forefront of delivering this essential service as part of the HSE National Children’s Screening Service. Our dedicated teams have successfully screened nearly 700,000 babies, identifying over 1,100 cases of PCHL. We take immense pride in our significant contribution to improving child health through hearing assessments and timely interventions.

A big shout out to all our dedicated Diabetic Eye screeners and graders from NEC, who guarantee a seamless screening experience for all participants. It's World Diabetes Day and we are proud of our impactful work in Diabetic Eye Screening, playing a crucial role in the early detection of Diabetic Retinopathy (DR), a diabetes-related eye disease. Our screening software, OptoMize, is the trusted choice for over 75% of NHS screening programmes and is utilized all over Ireland to assess the prevalence of diabetic retinopathy among individuals with diabetes. We work alongside NHS, HSE, Diabetes UK and Diabetes Ireland to help increase the awareness of diabetes related eye disease and increase screening uptake.
Attending diabetic eye screening appointments is crucial for the early detection and treatment of DR, significantly reducing the risk of sight loss.

From dressing up in Halloween costumes to spooking their workspaces, baking delicious treats, and showing off their pumpkin carving skills, the talent was truly impressive! Plus, we raised over £200 for our corporate charities that day! A big thank you to everyone who took part! 👏👏

For example, we’ve been supporting H&F Giving as part of our work with Hammersmith & Fulham Council. Through no-strings funding – which enables them to use the money where need is greatest – we’ve supported a whole range of projects, including contributing to a digital fund that provides devices, data and training across the borough.
