Data from the UK Cinema Association and Terra Media shows that the average price for one ticket has increased by over 368% from just £1.71 in 1985 to £8.01 in 2025. And that doesn't include snacks, booking fees or add-ons like 3D or premium seating!

If you've heard in the news that the FCA scheme is now facing legal challenges, you're wondering what that means for you and any claim you may have.

The FCA scheme is currently on hold (AGAIN), but they have confirmed that lenders won't be able to postpone responding to your complaints forever.

So what should you do now?
If you've already complained, brilliant, you don't need to do anything.
If you're already using a CMC, again, you can sit safe in the knowledge that, when everything picks up again, so will your claim.

The MOT test is routine admin for most of us these days, with costs varying from dealer to dealer or with the cost included as part of service plans if you're organised enough!

But how much have they set us back through the decades?

In 1985, the average standard MOT for the majority of passenger cars on the road ranged from £10-£12, which is around £31.26 today, accounting for inflation. More affordable than the maximum charge of £54.85 we saw in 2025 👀
