Running a small business means relying on technology that simply has to work — especially email.

After Syntego Papercrafts & Accessories moved its website and domain, an issue developed where customer emails were not being delivered correctly.

I was asked to investigate and found that the domain's DMARC email security configuration had not been set up following the move.

Once DMARC was correctly configured on the Google platform, email delivery was restored. I then continued monitoring the service afterwards to make sure the fix remained stable and emails continued flowing normally.

Technical problems are only part of providing good IT support. Keeping customers informed, explaining what has happened in plain English and being available when help is needed are just as important.

I'm extremely grateful to Amanda and everyone at Syntego for taking the time to leave this 5-star review and for trusting 1066IT to help resolve the problem.

One of the things I enjoy most about running 1066IT is helping people get the very best from the technology they already own.

Did you know Hastings once had a Church Street hidden behind Greville Road?

Today, only this overgrown path remains, tucked away behind the houses. Walking it feels like stepping back in time.

I recently discovered that this route was once known as Church Street and thought it was too interesting not to share.

Hastings is full of forgotten lanes, paths and roads that have quietly disappeared as the town has grown.

Does anyone remember this area from years ago, or know more about the history of Church Street?

Anyone who knows me will know that I've always been interested in local history and old buildings.

I can rarely tell you what shops were on a street, but I'll happily spend ten minutes looking at a Victorian building and wondering what it was originally built for!

While out delivering flyers around Ore this morning, this fascinating building on Frederick Road caught my eye.

I've been told it may have formed part of the old St Helen's Hospital / workhouse site and may date back to the 1860s (or possibly earlier).

Does anyone know more about its history?

I'd love to hear any memories, stories, old photographs, or perhaps even pictures of what the building looked like before it was converted into homes.

If anyone lives there now, I'd also be fascinated to know whether any original features remain inside.
