Our in house software team are busy developing Juno 2020 to assist with libraries reopening during the covid-19 pandemic. The new features include pre-booking a library visit and allowing access to the library to only those who have pre-booked. Telepen recently conducted a library survey with the results identifying that 88% of people surveyed are identifying new projects for covid security but only 39% have been allocated budgets for this.

New FE Technologies V5 self-service kiosks have been installed at a customer site before the start of the academic year. They will be utilising the new software which makes the kiosk completely touch free so will aid a safe reopening.

Telepen are delighted to be supporting the of Nottingham as they welcome Students back to campus. Sentry Juno access control manages occupancy across the 7 subject libraries and the touch-free user interface on our V5 self-loan station means that resource borrowing can continue, safely.

During the lockdown period we have run a series of webinars and forums to try and understand the impact the covid-19 pandemic is having on libraries. Several issues have been discussed from budgets to measures to mitigate the risk of covid-19.

As a result, we would like to get a view of the wider market to see if what we have learnt is something that everyone is experiencing. This afternoon we are hosting a focus group with some of our customers to look at whether we can adapt Juno to better serve restricted opening.

The focus will be to look at pre-booking functionality in two main areas; to restrict library access to those that have pre-booked and to aid click and collect management.
