There's no point moaning about UK tax and then not educating ourselves on the sheer scale of what goes on in British Overseas Territories.

Did you know that the Cayman Islands is the fifth largest finance centre globally? Did you know they have $6 TRILLION in Hedge funds alone there?

Did you know that investors buy British corporates by loaning the money from their own hedge fund in Cayman at exhorbitant interest rates. This pulls all the profit out of the UK into Cayman TAX FREE.

They then withdraw it there without having paid a penny of UK tax.

So when you're worried about the pensioners having their winter allowance taken, or the inheritance tax or Capital gains going up...now you know one reason why.

The Labour party - the party of the working man - are acquiescing to this state of affairs. OK, we expect the Tories to look after the rich, but Blair did nothing about it, and Starmer won't either.

Think about that as you trudge to work to pay your income tax in the rain - while the billionaires relax on their sunbeds on seven mile beach not paying theirs.

Only when we sit idle because we aren't educating ourselves around there issues, do we get stung over and over again for tax.

When Cops are trained not to arrest, this is the outcome.

In 2015 I was an operational DI in West Yorkshire. In front of me I had a young cop who had come for an attachment to CID. I asked her what she wanted to 'get' out of the attachment. She said 'the cells'. Now, that is a very large subject, so I asked what about specifically. And she said, dealing with a prisoner.

So I asked her how many times she had been into the cells. She said twice.

IN 18 MONTHS...

When I joined the cops back in 1992, we had about 45 cops on our team covering the Kirklees district of West Yorkshire. Wind the clock forward to 2015, and the same team (now called 'Response') has about 15.

The Police deal with crime. No other agency is coming to arrest criminals. Nor interview them. Nor charge them. Nor manage them through courts. Nor interrogate scenes. Nor collate evidence. Nor put the miscreants behind bars.

So why are they pushing crimes into non-custodial processes like 'Community Resolutions'?

Like shoplifting.

It is at EPIDEMIC proportions with teams of professional thieves stealing from shops at will.

Here's why they don't bother anymore.

1. Too many pushed into neighbourhood policing
2. Too many in roles that social services, the NHS or Councils should be doing.
3.Cops don't know how to deal with a prisoner, can't interview, collate evidence nor prosecure offenders
4. They focus on the 'woke' agenda and marginalised edges of society.
5. They are pushed to by the HMICFRS who consistently drive the woke agenda
6. Recruiting people with degrees. You do not need a degree to be a cop. You need common sense and life experience.

If you are a fit, employed, of average age, with no vulnerability do not bother reporting to the police.

If you are from a margin community (of any sort), you suffer from some form of disability or you're old, you will get more of a service but even then it is not good enough.

The Police measure their response along three lines. Threat, Risk and Harm. So if you're vulnerable you get a service. If you're a builder who has had his van nicked with all your tools, forget it. They're not coming.

Even though that's your livelihood that's just disappeared down the road.

The strategic direction of the police has GOT to change. They are at best ineffective and at worst totally incompetent.

We police with consent in the UK. That 'consent' is being eroded because the general public know it is a waste of time reporting anything to them.

They are the last resort. And the only resort to report to. This means that monopoly has caused a complacency that has driven crime to the edges of what they do.

It should be FRONT AND CENTRE

When I was a cop in my probation, I used to try and get an arerst every day. It could be for shoplifting, some form of disorder or a self generated arrest by stopping and searching people in the hotspot for crime.
