It’s International Dog Day!

We certainly promote dog welfare here at Verifac and if you are thinking of getting a new dog – shelters and rescue centres are definitely the place to start…

That is where we will look first for our next one.

Benji and Max are no longer puppies but this is them when they first joined the Verifac Team some years ago.

Just saw this article from the Royal Veterinary College and I find it very troubling.

We recently heard the same thing about Pugs and other breeds - Essentially, our breeding practices to exaggerate certain features are making our dogs less healthy and decreasing their lifespan.

That is not OK.

Last post for National Pet Month 2022 in the UK!

Greg’s house has always been full of pets. In fact, his current tally of only 3 cats and 1 rabbit is probably the lowest for a few decades!

Tibby is a beautiful and extremely large Maine C**n cat, unfortunately with some health issues whilst Smoky and Shadow are some very relaxed Ragdoll siblings.

And yes, they are as lovely as they look.

Finally comes Poppy, who is a rescue rabbit found discarded at the end of the drive.

His lovely cat is called Petra and Max is the newest addition – and yes, he is as energetic as he looks.

Benji is only 4 and still bouncy and energetic.
Zeus is an old rescue cat and famously grumpy – stroke at your own risk!
Astra is younger and fluffier but a little on the shy side.
