Orthopaedic Referral and Primary Care Hospital

We were selected to design, procure and deliver the IT infrastructure for a brand new Veterinary Hospital being built in Glenrothes, Fife.

From the beginning we worked with various partners to select the required equipment and initially install the company network. This involved installation and configuration of internet connections, internal cabling, routers, firewalls, switches, access points and various other devices needed to support the running of all networked devices within the building.

Once the network was mostly in place, we moved on to installation of traditional computer equipment (Desktop PC’s, Laptops, Tablets, Printers and Mobile Devices).

Finally we worked with partners and external suppliers to setup and configure other networked systems, such as X-Ray and CT scanning machines, facilities and building management systems, security devices and large panel displays throughout.

The company is using a mixture of bespoke patient management applications and Microsoft 365 cloud infrastructure for the day to day running of the business, this required negotiation with external application developers and our own team to ensure seamless running of services.

All of this work has been implemented using best practice methods and experience from similar projects, the project has not yet finished of course, further work is required to continue supporting the company and update the infrastructure as required. However this latest project further proves the benefit of a well designed Network using best practice techniques.

Microsoft 365 and IT Systems Upgrade

Another existing customer has migrated to Microsoft 365. Although rather than just a straightforward migration the project also involved an office move and upgrade of their IT Support and IT Systems.

BSW Buildings design, supply and install steel frame and cladding systems to industrial and commerical building sectors. In order to achieve this BSW require powerful Windows based workstation PC’s running Computer Assisted Design software.

The company also moved into a new purpose built office and so a local area network needed to be designed and implemented before building works was completed.

Using well recognised process drvien IT project management methods, we determined the customers requirements and implemented a solution to include the office move and IT systems upgrade whilst also migrating parts of the company network into Microsoft 365.

The new network is a Hybrid Microsoft 365 solution encompassing both cloud based and on-premise data storage and delivery. Hardware is typically Cisco Switching, Cisco Aironet Access Points and Routing with Dell Enterprise Server and Workstation Systems installed on-premise.

Aerospace CCTV and Cisco Networking

Proud to be a (small) part of this project to help deliver the new Aerospace Innovation Centre within an existing customer site in Scotland.

Working with various partners, we helped with the installation of a Cisco Network to support the building’s CCTV and Facilities Systems.

Using Cisco Catalyst Switches the building has been added to the wider site fibre network. New CCTV IP Cameras have been joined to the existing Milestone Video Management System providing more security around the area.

The project has not yet finished of course, further work is required by us to install PC equipment as required. However this latest project further proves the benefit of a well designed Cisco Network using best practice techniques.

An existing customer recently migrated all of their server infrastructure into Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Office 365 (O365).

Working with our other partners we formulated a migration plan. This initially involved moving all of their on-site Exchange mailboxes into O365 (using AD Sync to replicate domain and user account information), virtualising remaining on-premise server infrastructure and migrating everything, including domain controllers, into AWS.

IP Camera project update! Almost done, it has however taken slightly longer to get this CCTV IP Camera project finished:

Security staff now have multiple CCTV IP Workstations running Milestone, all interconnected via fast Fibre Optic cabling back to the on-site Data Centre
