Day two at Celtic Connections on Campus and another four tremendous performances.
This is the second year we have supported the audio engineering students at Glasgow Caledonian University as they produce, engineer, broadcast and, now, light this popular concert series.
We’re using the department’s small but effective lighting rig: 2 x quad RGB LED T-bars, 4 x 20deg RGB LED Pars, and 3 x 40deg RGB LED Pars.
It’s an ideal gig for controlling the lights with D-Pro and DMXIS, as we did last year. However, to incorporate multimedia elements - images and video - this year we’re using our latest software, Show Buddy Active. And instead of teaming it with DMXIS for direct DMX control, we’re being a bit adventurous in communicating with our light fixtures wirelessly over Art-Net (via SmartShow UK AirDMXout nodes). This ties in well with the course curriculum which covers networking applications for AV.
