Graphic Design + Creative Agency

[email protected]

Warriors Studio was founded by James Gilchrist and Beth Wilson, who built the studio on a shared passion for powerful communication and design. We're a communication design agency working with companies, organisations and individuals across the cultural, private and public sectors, both locally and internationally. We work with a strong network of graphic designers, web designers, web developers, copy writers, marketing experts, illustrators, animators and film-makers, handpicking the best people for each project. We develop and implement effective communication solutions and specialise in the areas of brand identity, brand development and marketing, while also designing specific objects and articles. Strong concept, simplicity and clarity are at the heart of our work and we believe that working closely and openly with our clients is the only way to reach successful solutions.

International Assembly is back!

Super excited for this year’s festival programme and to see you all in Glasgow again.

You can check out the full programme now including all-new events like ‘Secret Stage’.

Building on the identity by NAM and Warriors, we welcome Erica into the spotlight for this year’s campaign.

Erica is a caterpillar 🐛 balloon-animal from New-York 🍎 who grew up in a family of inflatables as part of the Macy day parade.

While floating through the streets, she became obsessed with window displays, shop signs, billboards, stickers and graffiti.

We’re delighted that her love of design brought her to Glasgow to join our team and share what’s coming up in November.

💜💚💙

Love to Jingqi Fan for giving Erica a voice and to Lee Tomasulo for producing the music for this year’s campaign. Hope you enjoy the calming, game-inspired melodies.

Check out the programme and we’ll see you in November!

You’ll find 260 pages of visual inspiration, theory, industry insights, personal stories and opinions in the International Poster Book. This 10th edition includes interviews and commentary from:

Nguyen Gobber, Alix Debraine & Martial Grin, Karolina Pietrzyk, Neo Neo, Dimitris Lelakis, Vlad Boyle, Pakket Studio, Juliette DuPont-Duchesne, Agata Yamaguchi, Bráulio Amado, Kristýna Kulíková, Maximage, Shin Shin and ourselves, Warriors Studio.

It is such a joy to co-curate, design and interview such inspiring people every year for the International Poster Book.

Created in collaboration with Nam & Mark based on the newly evolved INTL identity and ‘parade’ campaign which worked perfectly for the book as it’s essentially a parade of the freshest posters.

Even the page numbers join in and you can see them march across the pages as you flick through (check slide 19).

All posters are selected through INTL’s 2025 International Poster Competition which received 2,232 poster entries from 86 countries. The book features the full collection of exhibition posters, nine interviews with selected designers plus jury comments on the winning work.

If you also love posters and believe they’re important - you can lock in one of the LAST copies from the INTL shop.

260 pages, full-colour, perfect-bound, Pantone silver spot cover, G . F Smith paper and designed by Warriors Studio and NAM.

Photographs 1-18 by Stephen Hughes.

Leaning into materiality, the certificates for the International Creative Awards ‘Recognised’ work are created by duplexing two beautiful papers together:

Gmund Urban Dust Cement 250 gsm and Gmund Heidi Used White 330gsm to 520gsm.

The cement dust paper echoes the concrete trophies created for the winners.

One side features blind-embossed typography and the other includes the project title and credits in print.

We created a concrete trophy holder so you can easily display the certificate too - created by hand by Charles Myatt.

Thanks to GF Smith for providing the paper and Pressision for the tight work on the printing, embossing and duplexing.

Trophies are an ancient concept.

Tangible items used to demonstrate achievement and celebrate merit.

The idea runs deeply through almost all aspects of civilisation from battlefields to science and culture.

They allow us to place abstract meaning and share emotion through a physical object.

When creating the trophy for the International Creative Awards, it had to be unlike any we had seen before.

Award trophies are typically clean, sleek, polished, ‘perfect’ and embody a type of aspiration we don’t connect with, which doesn’t represent what the International Creative Awards stand for.

We rejected historical notions of precious metals, ‘scarce’ material value and cast ours by hand in concrete. Concrete for us is raw, honest, limitless. It’s all around us. It can be refined or rugged. It has strength, unexpected beauty and is an unsung hero in our everyday lives.

The form of the trophy is a flower, a symbol of sacred beauty, transience and life but also a representation of resistance and positivity.

Making artistic, creative work in a commercial world is no easy feat. It is an act of resistance and determination.

It demonstrates a belief in the power of beauty, art and creativity, that’s why we founded the International Creative Awards. We believe in the power of art, design and creativity to make the world a better place to be.

This trophy is a monument to that.

Charles Stephen Myatt helped us bring the vision to life by hand-forming and then producing each individual trophy.

Charles is a central figure in the creative community in Scotland, honing his craft with concrete through building skateparks (with and without permission), organising events, forming communities and generally catalysing movement here in Glasgow. We love you Charlie ✊

Every aspect of this collaboration resonates with our mission for the awards.

Congratulations to all 2025 winners.
2026 is now open for entry.
